Fake Convoy S2+ from Gearbest COOL WHITE (uggggg) just received

Thanks all for posting. I figured it was only a matter of time. I agree with all the people who’ve said to buy either directly from Simon’s Ali store or from Richard at Mountain Electronics. Those are my go-to guys every time. I’m reporting all this to Simon. Gearbest should be cutoff IMHO but it’s not up to me.

+1 and don’t forget that Simon offers a 15% discount to BLF members on this light in his store.

I ordered one red and one blue Convoy S2+ from Gearbest on December 31, 2015 and received them both today.

Based upon your images above both are authentic.

First message this morning from CSGearbest:

Pretty impressed and happy. Hope they follow up fast with it :slight_smile: This thread can serve as information between a real and fake convoy.

Just got a PM from csgearbest. They have shipped me a replacement (with tracking) Waiting for it to appear. Hopefully, it is a legit one. Happy with the outcome although annoyed with having to wait 1 more month.

I’m fairly certain that the next one you receive from them will be real. They have far too much bad press to risk botching this. A month delivery time though? You could just demand a refund and Simon would get you one in half the time. That’s just my opinion of course…

I think this is a prime case of where a Supplier (not the storefront) caught cheating should be held more accountable.

They should not just ship a replacement, but TWO replacements.

That way they will eventually learn that honesty IS the best policy.

Yes, they would have. The employees do not know one flashlight from another but the last time that happened they did not give anybody any grief.

No idea what Gearbest would have done, but the posts, pictures and follow up on what Gearbest CS puts it past “whining” in my book. There has been little trust in Gearbest here lately, for good reason…

Look dude, I would have taken pictures and a video independent of me posting here. Why? They normally require proofs with images and video. I had it taken and uploaded to my dropbox already. I am not here to post this information for people like you who have no need for it but to the other forum users that might find such information useful. This can help users to see 1) what is a real convoy. 2) what gearbest is still doing 3) what their CS is doing and ultimately 4) the outcome of it.

Trust me, only PMing csgearbest or paypal PROBABLY would have been faster. Maybe my thread helped; maybe it did not.

Feel free to block me if my ‘whining’ posts disturbs you.

Looks like I owe you an apology. I see now how my post could have been taken for a negative toward you, “Past Whining” was not that you were whining, but that you had gone past that and actually documented what was wrong, solicited additional advice here and informed others of your problem, with no drama. I actually was trying to see why another member had phrased your post as whining, not accusing them of anything, just trying to see why your post had solicited the word whining.

I am sincerely sorry if you took my post as negative and I will try to look at what I write from both directions. I was attempting to word that you had done what any GOOD customer would have done, warned others here of a possible continuing issue and give the company time to respond, which you also posted. To me, whining is just not* what you did, you were past that to the POSITIVE side of the situation.

BLF is great for a lot of reasons, the lack of predominately overbearing personalities and negativity posters is high on my list of why I frequent here. I will call BS when I think it is there and do not put up with passive aggressive stuff like trolling, an simply did not see that what I had written could be taken as a negative toward you. I do not want to contribute unjustified negativity here. I will call things as I see them and question what I do not understand, but not be negative just to take it out on someone to make me feel better about myself. I made an honest mistake with this and this post is my apology.

All good ReManG. Accepted. I know there have been many new or 1 time posters that have used this forum to get their failed 1 time order from Gearbest sorted out. I believe that I am not one of them and besides these ‘whine’ posts do contribute a little to other threads. I also do find those 1 time posters annoying to be honest.
The advice asked was more of a mini poll to see what members would have done in my place.

I would have done less than you, but that is because I am a bit lazy… Lol

I hope they fix it right the first time, and you find a good use for the fake one…
