Confirmed as DEL mentioned, the 7135 based drivers do produce amp readings very close, very consistent between the UT50B DMM and the UT210E. Also confirmed, as Dale alluded to, the startling but expected contrast in readings of triple and quad FET DD mods - 8A-9A on the UT50B vs. 11A-12A on the 210E. I always knew my DMM readings were way low on these lights simply due to the fact of what lumens I'd measure vs. the amps.
To compare readings between the two meters, I took my triple X6 modded light and measured normally with the UT50B, but then added the UT210E clamped over one of the UT50B's leads, and the UT210E actually read slightly lower, about 0.05A lower in the 8A range of readings. This confirms to me the readings I'm getting on the UT210E are pretty accurate compared to my UT50B DMM, and the droppage from 11A down to 8A is due to the added resistance of the DMM (and it's leads) itself.
So, it's all good - very happy with the meter . Hope you all find it a step up as well. I think it's great we got so many signing up for this meter, since we will be on equal ground, plus we will probably get a good idea on reliability to see the # of DOA's and failures over time, which I hope we don't get many of, of course...
Meter contains a pair of alkaline batteries. Probably that could be one of the reason for delay for some countries. About 20% of US orders have been shipped when I last checked.
Since I stirred the pot here, I’ll report: I had placed two orders that were separated into 4 different shipments by BG. I sent an email to them asking if they would be able to ship everything before Chinese New Year. Within a few hours I had shipping notifications for two of the orders, and an email back saying that one of the other two shipments (the clamp meter) would be shipped within 48 hours, and the last shipment might be delayed a few days due to stock issues (which isn’t a big deal to me at all, it was some cheap drill bits).
