BLF Kronos X6/X5 GB - Group Buy now closed.

I hope you’ll be able to get a replacement part. The pics you posted showed a clearly botched piece. Keeps us posted, okay?

I’d pull one out of my hat, but unfortunately the only thing I can summon forth from the ether is code. :frowning:

Note that the copper is coated to keep it shiny. I’m not sure what the coating is, but people will likely want to know how to preserve it and how to easily remove it. Dale stripped one of his, but it sounds like it was a lot of effort.

Thought I could buff and polish off the dings, now with the coating it’s not feasible. Your info came at the right time.

Ah, but the code you summon is so sweet.

Do you have the runtime for the x6 with a 30Q battery also?

Not at all Jack. I’ll make what I said simpler for you. The people who do all the work on these group buys would be entitled to profit from them. Even $5 a light would make them a little money, and all of us would be more than happy if they did. They don’t want to. They put in A LOT, so all of us can have great lights. When someone else, usually a new member who has not contributed, tries to re-sell these for a profit to other members, yes, I find that despicable. It goes against my sense of right and wrong. Get it?

The individually-generated coupons were there to make sure each person could get the amount they reserved, to make sure nobody tried to scalp them in bulk then re-sell them. But after the reservations are filled, it’s really just up to people to do whatever they want.

Did you see the prices people listed for reselling the BLF A6 on Amazon? Kinda crazy, but predictable.

Unfortunately it is predictable. That doesn’t make it right.

i think i would sell my self before i sell my lights! lol

Hank, here is a picture. Kind of hard to photo and hold everything in place but you can see what I’m trying to say.

Needle nose pliers or similar with narrow tips are best because of the small amount of clip movement. Try to get as high up towards the bend as you can. When striking with hammer, try to hit just above the pliers. Spring steel is pretty difficult to bend so it might take a pretty good wack. When finished the clip will now have two bends and the gap will be much larger.

ok frank i agree i got ya

but there are only 400 lights most members not new and there is not much to make i think there are 100 ways to make faster and easier money. buy adidas sneakers for 200usd sell them online to a million strong crowd for 600. jsut for example NMD R1 they nearly killed the staff for this shoes and it was all over the news here thats why i know of this.

I really don’t know why I’m commenting. The little troll in me, I guess.

Without the organizers, this group buy would not be possible.

Without enough members’ interest, this group buy would not be possible.

It rubs me the wrong way as well when greed goes to town, such as a pill that costs 7¢ to produce and formerly sold for $7 being jacked to $700. Easy to see the ethical issue with fleecing sick people. Flashaholics aren’t that kind of sick. But OTOH I also have a real problem with the guy way down on the right that thinks his sense of morality can enter my veins or my lungs or my bedroom or my business, or has something to say about how I drive.

When my blood boils, I try to remember to meditate on Revelations 22:11, or Matthew 7:3. But suggesting this to anyone else always makes me sound crazier. But I’m way nuttier than that.

TK WOW you outperformed yourself again amazing code really refined i hope you make more blinkies as you stated some posts ago.
dale thanks for your always open ear and neutral wise tips and voice
and thanks to the rest i dont know who all made it so good

i got my sets today complete

i must say what a piece the ss is made for eternity i think even driver and LED will improve this light is so easy to upgrade this host will last generations.
the copper is a cute little thingy too

how about this ss hosts with same knurling and shape made as A6 and A5 in ss cu Brass and Al

today i got the AL and yesterday the SS if the wood box wood be protected as the all carton box it would look like new i hope this person at manker who did this crime get a training.
but i wonder because manker always pack everything so well i never had an issue and they wrap they cheap cardboard box of the al so well and the wood box not at all its a pity because as if you give this someone as present it doent make you look good it looks liek you hand over some used staff.

but its is like it is.

thanks its a great set

Drug companies (shoe companies, whatever) are businesses, for profit. They pay employees, stockholders, etc, and are in business for profit. If the drug company brain trust worked really hard to make a great new drug, just so everyone could have that great new drug, and decided they didn’t want to profit from it at all, when they were the only ones really entitled to profit from it, but didn’t want to, would it be right for someone with no intellectual or physical investment to buy that drug, resell it and profit from it? Isn’t there a difference? It is not a business. It is my feeling on the matter. I’m not telling anyone what to do, just stating my opinion, so I don’t think the bible quotes are all that appropriate. I definitely don’t care what anyone does in their bedroom. There are some bad drivers out there though.

frank there are also some bad divers on some bedrooms hahahaha

I suppose you’re right about that.

My SS/CU Combo is stated as "The item is pre-advised" since 2016-01-27 (!!) 05:52;
hopefully they repacked the box for safer shipping without dancing flashlights inside!!

Hmm. That’s odd. I’ll have to play with it some more when I get home tonight.

Not for nothing, if I post: “‘Yabba dabba do,’ Fred Flintstone said that,” I’m quoting Fred Flintstone. OTOH if I post: “Consider Shakespeare’s quip in The Merchant of Venice, 1.3.96,” I’m citing a line from a work of William Shakespeare. Either way, I am still trolling a troll who littered the thread with my own litter as an obvious demonstration, but that’s just my opinion. Drive safe, folks!

But it’s not a company. It’s a community. People on BLF have been gradually developing hosts and drivers and firmware and tribal knowledge for years, figuring out better and better ways to move photons, and it’d be rude for one small group to take credit for all that. There are so many contributors that I can’t even remember who they all are.

So the prices are set to have as little margin as possible. Suggestions are solicited and often implemented. The code and circuit designs are open. Participation is encouraged. Nothing is glued shut.

This isn’t about companies and customers. It’s a community. So don’t be just a customer, be a maker — do your own thing and share it.

Hey, that´s is my SN

My wife just sent me some photos of #153. Box damaged, lights damaged. I could cry ….
