BLF Kronos X6/X5 GB - Group Buy now closed.

Just noticed in a pop-up ad from Banggood something that looks exactly like the BLF Kronos X6/X5 for $199. Wondering if anyone knows if it’s just the result of something automated on their site, of if they’re actually available, and if they are, do they say KRONOS?

You are right, the only way to see the spot is inside on the wall or ceiling, outside it will have no impact. Will try the duster spray trick, but it’s not so important now that I know that I can live with the yellow spot. I’m not going to use this light just inside, I have so many other lights for that.

Sorry Bugsy36 for all my complaining… see others have the same issue, but they can live with it. But still something to take with you and the rest of the team for the next GB, to make sure the producer have better QC on each light. Can we agree on that?

Hope you can pull of a 3 or 4 led light, but then in a X6 or some else light with 18650 battery, so you actually can enjoy it for some time, and not just minutes before the 14500 battery is empty.

It’s a placeholder for the light in the store. But you need a code to buy it. But they have to list it on the store so people with codes can buy it.

Will34: Really nice pictures.

Reasonable assumptions can sometimes lead to unreasonable expectations.

I LOVE building triples and quads, really, I do! But while we can reasonably assume much greater brightness and output, it’s not reasonable to assume that it’s a good thing to do. A good triple is going to pull 9-11A. Since we don’t have any 11,000mAh 18650’s, (well, you know) then it SHOULD be obvious it will take a light with a minimum of 3 parallel cells to supply power to a good triple. This means a big light. Most of us don’t want a big light. So we put up with the shortened run times from the little beasties.

I really like how the SS acts as an insulator against the heat, protecting the cell from the truly incredible amounts of heat that can be produced in the pill. The SS/Cu X6 is a perfect candidate for a triple XP-L HI. I’m actually amazed at myself… my SS/Cu X6 is still virtually pristine! (This too, shall come to pass…)

I need to get some higher drain batteries, the laptop pull I’m running in the X6 isn’t cutting it, and neither is the efest red imr I’m using in the X5, I think I’m way under-driving them. They’re still very bright but I’m definitely missing out.

I should walk out to the car and get my meter but it’s snowing and it’s warm inside. What a horrible situation I find myself in.

Run out there and back as quick as you can then turn oin your hand warmers. You will think it was worth it while everybody thinks your crazy. ;)

My SS/CU set are stuck in USPS Purgatory! According to the tracking information I should have received them yesterday, so I got prepared Wednesday evening and charged my cells so I would be ready to try them out as soon as I opened the package. Unfortunately USPS seems to have dropped the ball, the last entry on my tracking number is:

2016-01-30 09:09 ISC LOS ANGELES CA (USPS), Processed Through Sort Facility, Your item has been processed through our sort facility in ISC LOS ANGELES CA (USPS) at 9:09 am on January 30, 2016.

The USPS site said to expect delivery Feb 4th, but it seems my package got stuck / misplaced somewhere. USPS really does a poor job of tracking packages! I hope this is a temporary issue and my package will still arrive in the next few days! It is driving me nuts to see all the posts talking about the lights people have received and mine are still not here!

Waiting very impatiently,

Melven

Melven, sounds like it’s waiting to go through customs. The approx dates are rarely correct when customs is involved.

I’m sure I’ve been seen using flashlights in broad daylight. It’s too late for me to appear sane anyway, I’ll go get it

I thought since it said processed through the sort facility that it had already done customs

I know this isn’t going to help much Melvin, but I live in MA and I had 2 sets that were in NY last Friday according to tracking.

One set was delivered Monday, but the other set somehow was sent to CA, then back to NY and then up to MA and it was delivered Wednesday.

I got my meter, but the stupid fuse is blown, must have happened at work…. So the question now is, Harbor Freight or Home Depot? I saw in the Home Depot deal alerts thread that somebody found a Klein auto-ranging meter on clearance, I wonder if I might get lucky.

I think a triple would be cool. I’m not looking for increased output. Just a nice flood in the same package.

You could just put some diffuser film or tape on the lens if you’re happy with the output. Or you could get an orange peel effect on the reflector with some spray polyurethane. I don’t know how that would work if allowed to get really hot though. I don’t know if replacement reflectors will be available…

Jeeze, might be less work to do a triple, haha. I bet the diffuser tape would work pretty well though.

I guess that could work. It would just be nice to have a triple. Better flood beam and just “cool”.

DC-Fix .

Turning throwers into throwy flooders .

PM Boaz , he'll sell you what you need .

This would be very helpful. It could be a dual purpose modding/troubleshooting thread.

The problems that occur in flashlights are pretty standard. It would be helpful to have them listed but more important is getting to know how flashlights and drivers work since that basic knowledge can be generalized to diagnose most problems.
