Yes, but not your typical 150C wire, it was what we normally use - 200C rated. 24 AWG is pretty heavy for a stock light.

Well, ok, if you say so. I never use anything smaller than 22 AWG except for wiring up e-switches or such. I mean, sure it’s a stock light, but one that comes with a FET-driver… But then, 24 AWG seems to work fine for well over 1000 lights purchased in this GB…

… I am wondering though, with the aluminum set I am able to back the tail switch off maybe 1/10th turn back and the lighted cap will turn off, with these SS/Cu the instant the switch spring touches the negative of the battery the tail light comes on and it won’t turn off at all like the aluminum, that is both the X6 & X5,
I have to completely remove the batteries to turn of the tail light, Sure does look nice and if they don’t go off ever that’s fine with me frankly, just wondering though… …

The aluminium set turns off when you loosen the tail cap because the threads are anodized, that isn’t an option on the stainless and copper so to turn off the tail cap light you have to remove the battery.

The aluminium set turns off when you loosen the tail cap because the threads are anodized, that isn’t an option on the stainless and copper so to turn off the tail cap light you have to remove the battery.

My lights have finally arrived and wow, wow, I could not be any more thrilled, these are just beautiful.
A whole lot heavier than I had imagined, S/N: 121
The magnet fasteners on the box lid is a very nice touch.

Edit: Was reading up at #5416 about wife and tail cap light, are these actually meant to be on all the time?
I was thinking I would be able to back it off some like my alum’s and it would turn off…?
Or is that wrong and the alums should stay on all the time also?

No, a twist won’t turn it off. However, you can take the tailcap off and flip a tiny switch inside to disable the lighted tail.

There are also other ideas being developed.

The switch fits on the spring pad and only enables/disables the tail cap LEDs. It’s not in production and only an oshpark DIY board. You could probably find someone willing to put one together for you though.

My lights were stuck there from 1/30/2016 - 2/3/2016. I didn’t receive any notification until 2/4 and then it was delivered. Its the Blackhole of the USPS. Prepare to wait a few days. Have patience.

To the GB powers that be: I’ve bought lights in the EE X6 group buy, the A6, and now the Kronos set. It occurs to me, there has been a lot of complaining as well as a lot of love, but I think it’s fair to say each GB has been increasingly successful. The goals have been better reached, and the greatness of each light has escalated as well. At least it seems that way to me. So, I again say thanks, and hope everyone involved is proud, and encouraged. Things are skyrocketing, don’t you think?

I think the lighted tailcap adds a lot to these lights in terms of the ‘excitement factor.’ I was considering them without it, sure, really nice, but not as nice. Great innovation!

Dwantink, now I’m confused, you switched the 1 to 8 modes on/off? Not that simple with that one. In configuration mode, after a quick 16 presses, it will blink once for the mode level and stutter for about 2 seconds to give you time to make a selection. 1. is muggle mode 2. is mode memory, toggle on/off to engage or disengage memory 3. is Moon toggle to turn on/off 4. is L-H or H-L, toggle to change 5. is to enter the mode levels, click during the stutter and it will blink up to 8 times. You have to choose how many levels you want it to have. If you allow it to blink 3 times, you’ll have 3 modes. If you allow it to blink 6 times you’ll have 6 modes. This is independent of the moon mode, so if you choose 6 you’ll have 7 in total if you have moon mode engaged. 6. is for Medium press, toggle on/off if you do or do not wish to be able to reverse into the hidden loop 7. is for thermal control. click during the stutter and it will come on , then step up to Turbo. Wait til it’s as hot as you wish it to get, turn the light off, This memorizes your choice on the heat level. 8. is default reset So for the 5th blink, it’s not a simple on/off proposition, you have to go through the blinks to choose levels. See? So, to recap, if you want to change mode levels to 4 modes with moon engaged for a 5th mode you would turn on the light, bump 16 times or until it quits responding, then count the blinks (and stutters) to the 5th blink… during the stutter press to break connection, then on the 4th blink turn it off. You will then have 4 modes. Turn it back on, bump 16 to engage configuration mode, count blinks (and stutters) to the 3rd blink and during the following stutter, turn it off. Then moon will be engaged (if it was already engaged it will turn off now) And for all those words, it really takes about 30 seconds to do that. Hope this helps. I guess one of us needs to make a video… (TK determined proper visual spacing for each level of modes, so if you choose 3 modes it’s a set separation between them, if you choose 5 modes, again she figured out the spacing between them to be visually appealing, so all you have to do is decide on how many.)

One of mine is staying in configuration mode. Trying to get it back to factory default. Let it blink 8 times and cut off during the shutter. Turn back on and it’s still in configuration mode. What am I doing wrong. Thanks for the video Dale, helps a lot.

How long are you waiting after cutting it off during the shutter? It takes a couple of seconds for that switch-off to register, and some of the lights seems to be longer than others.

Go back and Turn off mode memory.
It is coming back onto the last mode used, config.

From the factory it was in configuration mode. After letting it sit for about 20 minutes, it’s now has 3 modes, low, med, high. Tried the 16 half clicks to enter configuration mode, nothing happens, just goes through the 3 levels and never goes into config mode.
