Replacement Clip for Olight S15?

I wrote to an Olight seller recently. I think it got forwarded to Olight themselves in the end though haven’t heard anything back from them :frowning: to say that Olight are missing a trick with the dimensions of their clips. I love my S15R but the clip only allows for a deep carry with the torch head up. This, in my view, makes it more prone to damage and removes one aspect of the lanyard that I happen to love, being about to just grab and yank a lanyard to take a torch out of my pocket. If they either put the clip channel smack bang in the middle of the torch (adjusting the clip length as necessary) or did dual-channelling it would allow for head up - therefore cap peak mounting as well as head down for pockets.

Hi CRX, I think it's around 17mm, I have a similar clip as your pic from an 18650 light (the Astrolux S1 and the Thorfire VG15) that clip into place but have a little too much play.

I'm really surprised that no one seems to sell the Olight part as a spare.

Decided to see what I could do with the old clip, some heat (well, lots of heat ) and some bending and I've managed to sort the old clip to an extent it will work for now, so no pressing need for a new clip anymore.

Will keep a look out though, hopefully someone selling them will come to light.

Checking this for O-Light-size clips (to use on the aluminum Kronos X5 lights)

This? http://goinggear.com/olight-deep-carry-pocket-clip-replacement.html

that would be it — quantity on hand zero, price $7

Oops. Did not notice that. Sorry!

So far only three or four people have reported the problem, so it’s probably on us to fix, as “there’s always going to be something” could be the budget buyer’s motto.
If the problem were more common I might be less gruntled.

It's strange, for a reasonably popular series of lights that no one seems to stock spare clips. At least my slightly shorter clip is working OK for now .

Fenix LD12 clip’s wearing good on S15r

My S10 clip broke about a year after I bought it, and I contacted olight customer service asking if I could purchase a new one. They shipped me one for free, on 2 day shipping.

Not an amazon seller, olight directly. I was impressed, apparently it’s covered under warranty

Thanks, I’ll give that a try.

Looks like olight in the UK aren’t up to the standards of Olight US :frowning:

I emailed them last Thursday and asked if I could BUY a clip.

They haven’t even bothered to reply…

That sucks dude. Did you use the contact form on their site? Or just email them from your personal adress? I used their form and i think it may prioritize their response.

No contact form on their site here, just emailed as per instructions.

I’m actually going to email them again, just noticed the bit about “we try to respond within 1 hour during office hours”.

I’ll ask what happened to the first email…

If you still get no answer, try the China branch. Those guys are fantastic.

I will do, as I’ve just had an answer, paraphrasing it as “that’s too bad, sorry, contact your retailer as we don’t hold spares here”.

Pretty poor, as I was actually asking to BUY one (I just mentioned that I was disappointed that a 3 month old clip broke so easily), didn’t even mention free replacement or warranty.

I’ll email China Olight and see what they say.

Losing the will now, I just remembered that the Olight came from Banggood, so I thought I would contact them and see what they say. I presume their contact us page is deliberately made obtuse to use to try and prevent contact?

They insist on pictures, no problem, snap a few pictures, upload to the contact page, still tells me it wants at least one picture! Even though 2 are uploaded and I’ve even made sure they comply with the upload restrictions :frowning:

It’s at times like this that I remember why buying at a B&M store can sometimes be better….

I gave up and just used the generic contact form instead.

That repair form is just impossible…
