any original sk-68 on aliexpress?

i know this has been asked a lot.
are there any original sipik sk-68’s on aliexpress?
some of them claim to sell original ones.

From all I’ve heard the original Sipik SK68 is long gone, but I could be wrong on that. I did look on BLF and CPF before I bought my clone but I couldn’t find any references to where “real” ones could be had or I too would have bought one. A few of the clones are rated fairly well save for the emitters which will probably be LatticeBright or worse. More’s the shame.

Fasttech maybe?

Otherwise I’m thinking (hoping) this Hugsby V1 is the best of the bunch at the moment.
If it’s a genuine Hugsby it will probably have a real Cree inside and the specs can be believed.
I have one on the way and will report back when it arrives.

Thanks,

that hugsby indeed look promising
let us know when you have it.

hard to tell what might be inside

I like the Hugsby too.

The trouble is that there are a lot of fake Hugsby’s floating around.

I just purchased the one from Fasttech. Good news is it has a removable pill. Bad news was that it had a LatticeBright in it. Didn’t really care as I had planned on swapping it out anyhow.

are there any cheap lights without latticebright, anymore ?

and was the pill solid(eg no hole under the star)

less us know which one you ordered

Well the Hugsby V1 has arrived and I am glad to report that the news is mostly very good.

Highlights:
Excellent build quality with threads that are lubricated and as smooth as silk.
The body is actually a complete redesign and is very mod freindly - you don’t need any tools at all to completely disassemble it and access the emitter and driver.
The pill is solid, the star is glued on with thermal glue and the emitter appears to be a genuine Cree XP-E2 R3.

Lowlights:
Generic 3 mode driver with strobe and next mode memory. Really? Come on Hugsby, you can do better than that.
Because of the redesign they have had to put the clip on upside down and it is VERY strong. A bit too strong for my liking.
Visually the output is not significantly greater than other Sk68s I have, but that driver will have to go anyway, so that can soon be sorted!
The beam has some odd artifacts around the edge - possibly caused by the pill design. Further investigation required.
I will try and sort out a proper review when I get the chance. In the meantime I will just say that I think this is the best SK68 style zoomie out there at the moment.

Edit: Review is up.
