Looking for a AA/AAA dim flashlight

Hello everyone. I am looking for a AA/AAA dim flashlight to use to keep beside my bed for reading a watch at night with dark adjusted/sleepy eyes. I just bought two new Orient watches that have no light in them (I am use to Timex Indiglo) and want a light for this purpose. A 10 lumen light is way too much so my Fenix E01 is out and so are the keyfob lights. Thanks for the advice and help on this.

I use my Uf-H2 for this purpose. The best bedroom light ever. 2 lumens on low, variable brightness control.

If you are thinking in the budget range, the Thrunite Ti might be worth checking out.

Mag solitaire? Might have to overdrive it on a 10440 to get up to 2 lumens though....

Ultrafire UF-H2 goes down to 2 lumen and will run for almost 5 days on an alkaline AA. Costs about $25 to $32 though. Not sure what else goes that low for less.

I forgot about that little Mag Solitaire AAA light. That thing is very dim and you can get it anywhere and would not have to wait a month to get it from China. Hmmm I wonder if that would work?

The new Thurnite Ti has a firefly mode 0.04lm! Since you live in the US here’s a link : $ 16 bucks plus shipping .

I ordered one today.

How about the free coast light only $3.50 shipping and handling for filling out the survey. I think it would be perfect for this and you won't have to wait forever to get it.

You could get either light

I did the free light from Coast and got one that takes several button battery cells in it....that is too bright. :)

You could get a red LED button style light. The Photon Micro with red LED even has ramping.

For more money you can get a Proton Pro (what I use on my nightstand) to check your watch/clock and use to read in bed with.

If you keep pressing the button it comes on in low in red LED mode and ramps to high. A quick press and it comes on in white LED mode on high and ramps to low (good for reading in bed).

I’ve diffused mine and use it both ways. This is a single AA light.

If you can budge on the AA or AAA and go with a P-60 drop in like a 501A. I can make you a drop in with a 1-2 lumen low and a 400-800 lumen high.

XML on moon low

XPG on moon low

I received Thrunite Ti this week

very happy with it

The 0.04 lumen Firefly mode is to low to read a book if the flashlight is on bedside table

On a super small budget, how about the AAA Richuang RC-7001 http://www.dealextreme.com/p/richuang-rc-7001-30-lumen-led-flashlight-with-clip-1-aaa-44168

It's "rated" at 30 lumens, but no way. Bought a few of them at that price and the light output is pretty pathetic.

Was also thinking about colored lense filters. Sometimes better for really low light conditions.

I have the Richuang 7001and 7002 sitting here in front of me I buy them for the clip when they go on sale at Meritline and its exactly the same 18 lumens as the Coast light.

The more I think about the more I think your better off with the UF-H2 for reading.

Thanks for that E1320.
