What did you mod today?

Built up a Baked S2+ Triple . Built 2 S3ā€™s. Swapped some drivers around. Dedomed 3 leds, including Xtar H02.

I gathered a bunch of stuff up and worked very hard to turn one of the last pieces of plain old pound cake into scrumptious strawberry short cake! Cool Whip included! I was so proud of myself! The top end was so pure white, gorgeous! Then I ate it.

Hint: Angel Food Cake is even better in this application

Got some of the new XM-L2 U4 1A emitters in, on 20mm Noctigons. De-domed one, built an MTN FET driver with 4 modes (ATTiny13A and PSMN0R9) and used 20ga Turnigy leads, 20ga spring bypass in the tail, moved the OEM brass button over to the new driver from the Lucky Sun BLF Special Edition D80. With a fresh charged Efest Purple 35A 18650 flat top Iā€™m seeing 5.23A at the tail on my UNI-T clamp meter and 1500.75 lumens from the de-domed emitter. Not bad!

21.08 lumens
169.74
482.66
1500.75

I also filed down and sanded smooth the EDC black centering ring. Applied Kapton tape on the bottom of the reflector just to be on the safe side.

Similar to DB but used the U4 1C on a 20mm Noct in an eagle eye x6. Replaced the faulty switch and tried an LDCH LD29. As above great throw and good color. It almost looks like a 1A cross B tint. White with a faint yellow ring.

A friend of mine wanted to have his little bike light repaired. Here in Holland we have those tiny 2xCR2032 5mm led bike lights that are strapped around the handle bars. His one went dead and it appeared just a bended battery contact. Bended it back and it works fine again.

This was too easy so I left a souvenir insideā€¦

The annoying rgb led is conquering the world!!!

Modified a KRONOS BLF Limited Edition Aluminum X5 into a Quad Nichia 219C, 2960.1 lumens out the front on Turbo, 0.24 lumens in moon.

I used a 1 1/2ā€ dia 6061 bar stock to re-create the reflector into a heat sink for the quad mcpcb. On this one, I even threaded it so it screws in just like the OEM reflector does. Replicated the ramped shelf up top for the o-ring to maintain water proof specs as well. Very little difference in weight, a LOT of difference in output! The Bistro UI still works fine, so it has the police strobe and bicycle strobe in the hidden group. I used larger ga wires throughout, 20ga Turnigy including spring bypasses top and bottom.

Love it when a little light kicks butt! The AA size Efest purple IMR14500 is a really capable little cell, for sure.

A work of art for sure! Beautiful!

Thatā€™s nice work Dale. Is aluminum sufficient in that application?

A very nice quad you made! That threaded dedicated heatsink should be made for sale somehow! (but adapted to the thickness of the new Cutter quad board because Dscheā€™s copper quad boards are not available anymore)

Where do I get the Cutter quad boards?

Probably from Cutter.

This must be the most amazing thread on BLF!

OK I am eyeballing this

I hate the color, would it bake to a nice gray or would that childish camouflage still be visible?

the camouflage finish is probably painted (like the camo sk68ā€™s a while ago), so the paint will probably just burn.

Dedomed 219C

I put together my first triple
Blue S2+, illuminated tailcap (blue), BLF A6 driver, homemade copper spacer, triple Nichia 219C on Noctigon and Carclo 10507 optic. Both springs bypassed.
Incredibly bright, even with a Samsung 26H (tested at 5A max current on CPF).
I didnā€™t measured the tailcap current, my ammeter is not reliable at high currents.

Well done

I bored out the battery tube on my Xeno Cube triple to accommodate an Efest 16500 effectively doubling capacity.

Rofis JR20 triple

Still working on upgrading most of my EDC lights to triple XP-L HI

Jetbeam RRT-01 triple, Eagletac D25C Ti triple and Sunwayman V10R Ti triple
