Home Depot Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

Dropped into a HD this morning for the USB charger thing. Good news is they had around 6 of them. Bad news, still full price.

Thanks for the alert dchodude. I will be watching for the price drop to come here.

Just scored 2 of the defiant armor max 3d 600 lumen lights for $14 each. And several packages of energizer lithium AA for $3.65 each.

My defiant collection is out of control because of this thread.

Well I just found this thread today and off to HD I went seeking fame and fortune and coolness!

Bust!

No Maglites anywhere - Only the New ML300L at full price.

No String Trimmers.

No LED Lamps - Lights or bulb deals.

They had a 2.1 amp Wall Wart sans cable so I grabbed 1 of those marked down from $11.97 to $3.03.

They did have the GE 60 Watt LINK on sale for $12.06 - so its on the way out.

The Black and Decker Power Packs - Full Skid of them - On sale for $67.00 - Will keep an eye on those.

Thanks for the treasure hunt!

So I have lots of the Xenon Mags (good for modding). I didn’t buy them for myself, so anyone that wants some can PM me.
The cost to you will be my cost + tax + shipping. If I can accommodate all the requests, the more lights shipped per box, the lower shipping cost per light. On the other hand I would like to give anyone that want some to have a chance. Let’s see how it goes. After the PM’s come in I will sort it all out.
I am posting this offer in the HD thread first, then later to the general forum

thanks for the generous gesture! and i should keep my eyes out for homedepot credit card deals then. out here in new york home depot hardly has any 03 deals i am able to find.

Speaking of the EGO string trimmers, this is a 1 day deal……….TODAY only. Today being April 15th maybe this tool is fitting in case you want to “blow off” the IRS. (I wouldn’t do it)

2 - 200 Lumen headlamps

8 flashlights and 2 headlamps. I know the sign says $12,00, but they rang up at $4.53. Includes 28 AAA cells!

4 softgell flashlights, very elegent to the touch for the basic 3 - AAA and 9 emitter type. They also glow in the dark.
I know the price says $8.00, but they rang up for $2.53.
What really sold me on them though is the batteries are already installed, good for lazy folk like me.

How did I know they would ring up at $2.53? I came across 1 once at another store. The only reason this big batch hadn’t sold before is because they were mismarked.

As I said, the batteries are included.

BTW, that same sort of light is available at LOWES for $4.97 each! WITHOUT the batteries

Digital tire gauge, inclues flashlight and spotting light to find valve stem.

some other stuff

On the left and right those 4 pack of safety lights rang up for $1.53

All of the above came from my local store, where I got all the twin packs of the Husky Lights for $5.03 each. The Husky lights were way in the back of the store at the restrooms. All of these latest lights were in the very front most part of the store right next to the Commercial checkouts. When I brought the displays up to the checkouts and told them ahead of time what the prices were going to be, the 2 checkout girls went nuts. They had been looking at that display for weeks with the wrong prices. They wanted to know HOW DID I KNOW. I just smiled.
I let them take what they wanted before they checked me out. They took a lot.

Found these in my local HD.

They were not the $.01 deal yet, but WITH three D cells inside, this is still a bargain.

Looking closely it seemed to have a 20mm star in the frosted dome…

YUP, sure does, and easy to mod…

Picked up a pair of those lanterns, six incan mags, and four LED mags at the Windham, Maine orange borg. I found the lanterns a bit hard on the eyes so I frosted the plastic shroud on one of them with white spray paint and it’s much less intrusive. Now to maybe improve the tint; Richard’s 219C promo comes to mind.

I kind of envy those of you who can find those deals. My last visit to HD those lanterns were $9.83 and all gone today. It seems the locations in the Cleveland area have their own odd pricing process. I picked up a Defiant 3D ArmorMax for $14.06. The price had been reduced nine weeks prior and rang up at $14.06. While I was looking around I saw items that had previously been on the ‘clearance’ end cap now among the regular price items with shelf tags proclaiming “NEW”. This included several models of Defiant and Husky with the two-pack Husky package among them.

Try “glass frosting spray”. Should let a lot more light through than spray paint. I’ve used it on a 4AA Coleman lantern and the difference is night and day.

ReGman, now I will have to look for the lantern. I don’t remember seeing them. 3 C cells means it would be easy to convert to 18650, if they can fit. If there is enough room you could hook up several 18650’s in parallel and charge them with a USB charging board.

kyfishguy, what day did you find Mags? I know when I was traveling some stores had not yet reduced to the 3 price.
All the stores around here already had and every store is out of stock. Some due to me.
So the stores that go to the 3 price later could still have stock. There still is hope for some here to get these.
I forgot to report the results of my cell test on the Black and Decker “Power to Go”. A single cell tested out to 2060mAh on my OPUS. So I would say they are Samsung 20Q’s Turns out, had I read the manual I would have known that this unit is spec’d out at 2Ah.

Yesterday I picked this up for a friend.
Ridgid 18V Hammer Drill plus Driver, 2 - 4Ah batteries, Fast Charger and carry bag. I had seen these in multiple stores.

And I forgot about these, a popup lantern and flashlight. 2 pieces, the flashlight also can be used as a worklight

tekwyzrd try not to get discouraged. Just keep at it, and remember when you see a tag with an “x6” price it could ring up for less and if you’re really lucky, a penny,

Hi,

This is not a light, but a question about power tools.

HD has this RIDGID drill on sale for $99:

http://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-18-Volt-Lithium-Ion-1-2-in-Cordless-Compact-Drill-Driver-Kit-R860052K/205690161

I don’t really have a (well-)functioning cordless drill, so I’m tempted, but some of the reviews indicate that the drill only works for a short while with the 1.5aH batteries that it comes with, and that the 4aH batteries are better.

However, while there’re 2-packs of the “old” 4aH RIDGID batteries, but no one seems actually have those. But, there is an “old” 4aH battery+charger for $99.

Ok, but they also have this combo hammer drill + saw:

http://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-18-Volt-Lithium-Ion-Cordless-Brushless-Compact-Hammer-Drill-Driver-and-Circular-Saw-Combo-Kit-R9206/206127576

for $199, which includes a 4aH battery and a 2aH battery (I don’t really need either the saw or the “hammer” part of the hammer drill).

So what do you all think?

As I mentioned, so far I’ve done the “when in doubt, chicken out” thing, and got a corded drill for now, but I’m still eyeing the cordless drill.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Jim

I checked the Auburn, Maine store on Tuesday and they had a tag for the LED mags at the “3” price but no stock on the shelf. I cleaned out Windham on Friday. The Windham store also had about a dozen of the Defiant 3D armormax lights for around $14 (the “6” price) but I’m not sure they’re worth that. I’ll check in a month or two to see if they drop to around $7.

I think those Armour Max 3D’s started out at 31.47. Then they went to $15.00 for the longest time. Just recently they went to the “x6” price at $14.06. This clearance event is atypical in that the “6” price is already more than 50% off. If the upcoming “03” price is 75% off as it usually is then you are right, it will be somewhere around $7 - $8. I don’t yet have one, could someone that does do a teardown? The 3 price should happen in about 5 weeks.
I think this store may still have stock by then.

ohaya You could look and see if you can find that deal I just posted. It has a lot of good stuff for not a lot of money. If you can wait, just keep an eye out for a deal that suits you. BTW, both those deals you posted have the slower charger, which I had and just upgraded to the fast charger.

i know that none of these deals are real, and that this is all a cruel hoax, but this is still my dream thread

Hi,

I’ll try and look tomorrow at our local stores if I have time, but online, it’s not showing that combo.

The website has this:

http://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-18-Volt-Lithium-Ion-Hammer-Drill-and-Impact-Driver-Kit-with-Free-4-0-Amp-Hour-Battery-Pack-R8611501KP-AC840087/204496973

but it’s listed as “Discontinued”.

EDIT: dchomak,

I found the 2 pack of the 4aH batteries at another kind of far away store (in Baltimore) so I ordered it along with that $99 drill, so I’ll have 4 batteries (2x4aH and 2x1.5aH).

Not as good a deal as you found, but not bad for me :)!

Jim

P.S. In case anyone is looking for them, the stores that had the 2 packs were on Reisterstown Rd. and the other one was in Parkville, MD.

Jim

EDIT 2: Called the stores and it looks like the info on their websites is wrong - neither had the 2-pack :(!!

O-L has some good break down shots in this thread. The pill looks hulkish.

The store I visited had six of the Armor Max 3D left. Not impressed by the plastic reflector, lens, and bezel ring.

My first home depot scores! found one xenon and one LED 2D at two different home depots today!!

thanks so much to all the helpful posts that helped to find these - especially dchomak.

That’s GREAT!
It’s not easy to find that good of a deal when there was a good chance everybody had already grabbed them all.

All stores in my area are completely depleted, except 1. They have 1 LED Mag in an open package on the clearance rack.
Currently it is miss marked, the tag says $19.06, but it scans for $7.83 In 2 weeks, if it survives it will go to a penny. If it is missed, I could, I am almost afraid to say it, get an LED Mag for a penny.
If that should happen, well I think I could just retire. There would be nothing left to do
