[Review] Manker T01 (XP-L HI V3, 1x AA / 14500)

I sent u a PM……

I finally got some emails going back and forth from Manker, and they’ve agreed to help me out with one of the defective lights. I don’t know when (or if) they’ll actually pull through and provide a replacement, but I’m hoping soon. I’ll update here when I get more info.

It took way too many attempts to get ahold of someone through the only emails they have listed, but at least they responded. It only took mere weeks to get anywhere.

Yes, Manker T01 could be the coolest light I have…it triggered my flashlight-frenzy.
However - I have two and both with electronics failure… In a day or two I should receive new driver so I could fix one of those lights (or rather ask someone who could fix it for me). Only because of that I’ve lost my affection to this light.

Too bad about all the issues. I was going to buy one but I think I’ll wait and hopefully the issues will be fixed in future production runs.

Both my T01 and U11 are working fine, I wonder if they changed anything from the original run from the later batches, maybe a different factory

Did you buy them fairly recently?

Thanks

UPz Great review, I enjoyed reading it. Thanks for all the effort in producing and publishing the review

I’m on the fence about buying the T01 myself, I see GearBest has the light listed now.
I don’t feel it is budget priced especially with the issues posted.

I can’t speak for all the people who have commented who have issues with their T01. I can, however, tell you that there are at least 6 that I know of that have problems and they were all from Fasttech. I was told by Manker that Fastech only got a shipment of the initial run of T01s, basically the prototype model. There were not too many shipped, and they were possibly only to FT.

that would be an explanation on the cheap prices …

That’s exactly what I thought when they told me. I was irritated more so by FT since they told me that they were the most recent model before I ordered and then recanted and said they thought it might be another version after I had already placed the order.

Got one from FT.
Older version.
Works OK.

Got one today from Banggood… old style clip with one click moonlight mode. Works as it should on a AA, but auto turns on with Efest purple 14500. Any ideas?

I had similar problem in mine - works pretty much OK on regular AA, except blinky modes, but on 14500 - always on, can’t turn off. This sounds like faulty driver.

anyone tell me how to get the reflector out? thanks.

I believe it’s threaded in.

This light doesn’t have lanyard hole?? Why?

Well I took it out for a walk last night, burned through a Efest purple mostly on turbo… it now it shuts down as it should, but it has to cool down from a mildly hot state (not warm but definitely not uncomfortably hot) before it can be switched on again. I’ve contacted Banggood with this new issue and waiting for their reply.

BTW: ktsl my light came with the lanyard attached to it’s pocket clip.

Mine arrived today without any springs in tailcap. Filed complaint with gearbest. What does it take to put in spring if they can get me one? How did it get out of factory like that?

Just ordered A GODMES T01 from BangGood, US warehouse with 20% discount code: 2ae5a1. Price was too good to resist.

For some reason, the US warehouse price was much lower at $39.95, then applying the code, it came down to $31.96, under 1/2 the price what many paid. In US, only 12 left in black, 3 now in white(I ordered a white).

I really hope those screws are there to secure the pill to the body. If so, looks easy to tear down. I want to mod it. Weird that nothing has been posted about modding it.

From the pics here, the screws are the key to disassembling it. I'm not sure how UPz got the side switch out, or the tail PCB board out. doesn't look like the switch retainer is threaded, so must be press fit -- no idea how it could be removed without damage.

UPz hasn't been online for quite a while, so no chance in getting any questions to him answered. I wish he could provide details on the full, clean disassembly.

arow55 - probably could solder it down without taking the PCB out, but would be much easier if you could, assuming the PCB id in place. Might have a pry point, if not, I'd solder from the top down as best as I could, using flux. I'll know more once the light arrives.
