Those endcaps look amazing, i hope some modder will sell those. So the ring inside the switch is iluminated?

Thanks! Yes, its got an illuminated board inside the switch which glows up through the nylon bushing around the metal switch. Looks like this:

You can build them yourself. Everything you need is in PilotDogā€™s thread here: D.I.Y. Illuminated tailcap

But yes, I do have plans to build a few to sell. Just waiting on a couple more parts, and some spare time.

Donā€™t forget about the Convoy S7, which has a polished steel host and a rubber boot. The boot is easy to switch out to any color you want. Itā€™s also a bit narrower than other 18650 tube lights since the steel doesnā€™t need to be as thick to get the same strength, and itā€™s much more resistant to wear.

However, itā€™s also heavier and canā€™t shed heat as well, so not a good choice for a triple.

Iā€™ve got a black boot on mine right now, but the plan is to give it a clear boot and fancy lighted tailcap.

The deep carry clip is black and canā€™t be changed (polished) without redesigning the light. Thereā€™s always the bolt on stainless clip. Iā€™m not a fan of it personally but some people like it. Clear ano with the standard stainless button is easy enough though.

Apparently Halo, not as many as I would have thought. Still Simon is working on making it happen for the Desert Tan S2+ so if thereā€™s enough interest maybe it could just be made a selectable option like an emitter change as Dwantink suggested. I like that idea too. :beer:

Yea, bit of a surprise. I would have thought the fact that stainless steel and clear anodizing donā€™t really match would lead more people toward black.

Oh well. Whichever people prefer. Hopefully, the poll results are a good representation of what will sell best. You know, sight unseen.

I hope they are too. If given the opportunity I will post pictures of the clear S2 with the black switch and the regular switch side-by-side. That would be much better than my words.

I like the idea of a option for the tail cap switch. to make it cost effective add a dollar to the choice, SS, black or rubber. Build 30% black, 30% rubber and 40% SS and see what sells best. I would pay a dollar to get my choice. Many would not! Maybe a bad idea?

I donā€™t think itā€™s a bad idea but I donā€™t know if Simon would go for it or not. A choice between metal switch colors seems reasonably doable but to go with a rubber switch requires a completely different tail. Iā€™m not sure if heā€™d want to do two different versions.

I like the simple silicon boot better: it feels better, looks better, you can use dimmer leds if a lighted tailcap is made (messes less with the driver), and it is more waterproof.

I understand your thinking. I donā€™t agree on the looks part but I respect your opinion. I do like the light up tailcaps and while I understand they shine brighter and are more beacon-worthy with a translucent switch boot I love the way the subtle glow looks in the SS switch even though I know itā€™s less efficient. Honestly Iā€™m completely torn on this issue. I really like the clear switch boot as shown in the clear sample. That said, only 25% voted for the rubber boot. The stainless switch is unique in a field where too many lights look alike. Thatā€™s another reason I pushed for the black stainless switch. Itā€™s unique.

I hope I have posted in the correct area, but may I ask if Convoy has decided on a switch style for the clear S2+ yet?

If not, I would like to say I prefer the rubber style switch boot. The design is overall simpler and proven, and one can change the boot colours easily and cheaply if they like :smiley:

Iā€™m a very big fan of Shenzhen Convoy Electronics Co, own many of your lights and given many as gifts. Will be sure to buy a couple of these clear S2+ when they come out. (regardless of which style switch Convoy release and hoping for the clear shorty 18350 tube too)
