Reflector revised: ReyLight Pineapple Brass 14500/AA Flashlight, Nichia 219C 4000K

Possibly interested pending final price/specs and other details

Excuse my Italian accent but ……

“Eh….whatta DAMMA STEAL !!”

Okluma sells its copper light for x 7 price of Olight S1Cu, for x 3,5 price of Manker Timeback Cu or for x 6 price of Oligh S2 Cu; so, I don’t see it like a good reference; $ 500 is more than twice that I would be willing to pay

Nice stuff but I’ve long since learned not to pine for what I cannot afford. Or as Spock put it “having a thing is not so pleasing a thing as wanting”.

I would rather have it in AAA for a lower price

Exactly

Brass AA, design finished.

id be interested in ‘brass’ depending price.

Interested in “brass”

Dear Rey,

There are many different kinds of brass and other copper alloys.
Lumintop uses the 360 brass - Free-Cutting Brass, which machining is extremely easy.
This brass contains some 2-3% of lead to facilitate machining.
I would recommend you, if you want to be really special, to build a
ReyLight Marine, using one of the following alloys:
464 brass - Naval brass
Admiralty brass
Cunifer 10
I have sent you a brochure regarding Cunifer via regular mail. This material is extremely corrosion resistant in sea water, and is used for heat exchangers on ships and power stations, and hulls of premium ships and scientific buoys.
Of course such flashlight would need a really good gaskets.

1 Thank

Im in for the brass aa light if the price is good.

I hope the switch design is better than the blf titanium light.

I really like this idea! Sounds very cool. So yeah, the Damascus was price-prohibitive but I think the brass will be more affordable. I’m in, assuming the final price isn’t silly.

If the price for the brass light is below 50 bucks, I’m interested

MiG0 +1 nice idea!

Now we are talking, a brass AA would be wonderful! A good pocket clip would be nice, maybe a mini Solarforce style that would mount over the threads on the tailcap??? Bent so it would go deep pocket carry? So many times, I feel, good clip options are overlooked for something that goes on but is not very functional. I have had my copper Tool only a week or so and the clip has popped off twice, almost resulting in a lost clip.

G'Day Rey,

Watching with great interest, as I have always watched your products.

Btw re the Damascus Steel, I may have been interested in a genuine Damascus Steel light depending on the price. But not for a DamaSteel one at a $500+ price.

Best Regards,

George

What we do about the driver?

Mountain 12mm or 15mm fet driver (guppydrv firmware ) with nw xpl-hi led on copper sinkpad.

Looking good, count me in.

15mm should be too big, 12 might fit. We’ll see.
