Reflector revised: ReyLight Pineapple Brass 14500/AA Flashlight, Nichia 219C 4000K

MiG0 +1 nice idea!

Now we are talking, a brass AA would be wonderful! A good pocket clip would be nice, maybe a mini Solarforce style that would mount over the threads on the tailcap??? Bent so it would go deep pocket carry? So many times, I feel, good clip options are overlooked for something that goes on but is not very functional. I have had my copper Tool only a week or so and the clip has popped off twice, almost resulting in a lost clip.

G'Day Rey,

Watching with great interest, as I have always watched your products.

Btw re the Damascus Steel, I may have been interested in a genuine Damascus Steel light depending on the price. But not for a DamaSteel one at a $500+ price.

Best Regards,

George

What we do about the driver?

Mountain 12mm or 15mm fet driver (guppydrv firmware ) with nw xpl-hi led on copper sinkpad.

Looking good, count me in.

15mm should be too big, 12 might fit. We’ll see.

12mm is tiny. These drivers mention only work with li-on. So this will no longer be an AA light. It will be a 14500 light. Meh.

I might be interested with the brass flashlight, depend on the price, design, and specs.

Do we need a programable driver or just a simple 3/4 modes one? 14500&AA compatibility is a must?

I just want AA. 3/4 modes is okay as long as it’s well chosen, l-m-h, no memory (or switchable), with good low moonlight (below 0.2 lumen) and well spaced modes.

What Gunga said.

Solid, reliable driver l-m-h with good moonlight would be my preference for a classy custom light.

I second that.

Simple 3/4 modes, nicely spread with moonlight mode will be fine.
Compatibility with 14500 is a bonus

0.2- 10-50-100 lumens? (maybe only 85 lumens with Nichia and AA) reverse protection, low voltage reminder, none PWM, option for Nichia and XPL HI?

Hi, I am interested in this flashlight.

Are you able to get 300+ lumens from single AA like the Zebralight SC5 and Manker T01?

With XPL and 14500, I think yes.

For Nichia 219B and NimH the following modes look optimal to me:

80 16 3 0.5 lumen

reasonable amount of light with reasonable runtimes, no wow factor.

While I use 14500 myself, proper support for it (like sc52d) would increase the price very significantly.

14500 support would be nice, no visible PWM would also be nice. I for one, on a small light thing that the lowest output mode should be first or there should be memory. Tiny lights are great on the night stand. AA would be ok, if 14500 support would stink or the other way around would be fine as well. I would love to see it with a 219b, that way I don’t have to disassemble and change it right away. That tint is so easy on formerly sleeping eyes!

Like I suggested before. 0.2-3-25-100. 4000K Nichia 219B?
