Home Depot Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

Those colored CFL’s are 1.33 at my store too. I’m trying to find a use for them but can’t.

You can use them for special occasions, and maybe sometime you’d find a permanent use for it; no need to force yourself to use them :stuck_out_tongue:

The yellow one is good as a bug light. I have never seen a yellow LED bug light. Although some LED bulbs seem not to attract as many bugs

I saw one once but it was some crappy reflector-style thing with 5mm LEDs.

Too bad there aren’t many LED debuggers.

Here is a couple of gems I found today while I was on the prowl. They were hidden in a clearance box in the Mailbox isle. Someone stuffed them down into the display box. I was looking through the box and I saw a corner of the plastic wedged between the two pieces of cardboard that make up the side of the display. Yanked them out, and low and behold it was quite the deal. Im pretty sure someone hid them hoping for a secret penny deal later on.

Now that I’m wise to the clearance game I’m finding that alot of people locally try to hide the clearance stuff at HD.

Brings me back to my days of working in a Sears hardware. On the night before black friday we all had to stay late and “unhide” all the merchandise that people hid. Took like an hour. We would find stuff in the bathrooms, hidden in the toolboxes, in the drawers where we kept the extra sockets, Some people would do anything to get their hands on the doorbusters. You literally had to tear the store apart.

anything to save a buck.

Sounds like a good signature

Yes, I have seen some DeWalt hand tools at the 6 price. I didn’t know they had gone to the 3

A couple of days ago I got these Milwaukee hand tools. They too had gone to the 3 price. For the most part I had missed the Milwaukee clearance. HD still carries the Milwaukee line of hand tools, they just updated the model numbers.
The hex jaw on the left was $5.03 and the “vise grip” on the right was $2.83

The item #’s are in the upper right corner of each

The V-Jaw pliers are 12” and is quite a nice tool.

BTW, I have never seen any of the Milwaukee stuff at the 3 price. Though these rang up at the 3 price, they were still marked at the 6.

Some penny stuff.

We know the Maglites had gone to a penny. In the upper right hand corner are the replacement bulbs for the Xenon 2D. They were $1.03 but went to a penny also. I picked those up for a member that can use them for a project. Those are stainless steel wire brushes. There were a couple of cases of them, but how many can I use? Also I found 2 packs of the EveryReady “Fusion AA cells that were previously $1.73
Here are 3 types of in wall digital timers and 2 plugins.

These PostIT notes were a penny also. Can you imagine people would pay the list price of $4 a pack?

On these 2 telescoping painting poles I got lazy. I was way in back of the store with one of them in my hand when an employee walked by. I was hoping they would now be at the 3 price and asked her to scan for price. She did and told me that it was a penny and could not sell it to me. She said she would like to sell it to me, but she couldn’t. I told her that was OK and I would put it back. I knew where they came from, so I raced back to where they were and put it back, and took the other 2 that were there!

Nothing down to a penny or what I’d consider a “must buy” price yet… getting there.

But look at the born on date here… Nov of last year. How is this NOT a penny or in the trash yet? I also wonder if these connected bulbs require a hub to work, or if they are self-contained and can be controlled via the app directly.

This is a good deal, and a must buy if I had the Wink hub… my FIL does… maybe I’ll tell him about it. Cheaper than the wifi/wink enabled light switches he put in.

And CHECK IT OUT… Maglite finally has their own S2 style/size light. “Only” 200 lumens… No idea what emitter it has.

And a tail clicky switch!

Also went to Lowes… nothing super to be found there… I don’t like how the clearance is all over the place. On the other hand, it makes it harder for others to snag the really good items too. Found this wall of tools.

LOL! I can see dch now carrying up a couple cases up to the self-checkout and paying with a $5 bill!

Darn, I noticed Milwaukee hand tools at my Home Depot on clearance last Saturday and think they were marked at an “06” price. Maybe I should check them out.

I’m headed to Lowes right after work. Looks like I need to checkout the tools aisle(s)! Good thing Home Depot is right next door too!

You got it Garry! View the big image here: http://i.imgur.com/k4hQQOU.jpg

There were a ton of useful tools at Lowes … I could have filled a cart… but then I’d need to find a home for them back in the garage.

And until it goes to a penny and gets bought by one of us… or sent to the trash, that’s as low as they’re gonna get. Good price, but I’d buy a few of them if they were $2 cheaper.

HA! I picked up one of those today for $8.83! The date on the markdown was February, so I was hoping for a penny deal, but no such luck.

Has anyone modded one of these? I’d love to power it up with my Makita 18V cordless tool battery pack.

Whoa! Lookout! dch has some competition!

I’d love something like that! Surprised they aren’t made and sold like that.

Don’t trust the prices you see. Clamp Meter “$32.06”

But it scans for $11.03. I passed on this, already have some like this. Quality is not that good.

This is a good candidate for an item to go to a penny and not get pulled. These are hanging on a post away from the electrical department. When it was reduced to the “3” price they were overlooked. If it happens again, they will be available for a penny.
In 2 or 3 weeks.

Finally! I found a yellow LED bug light.

It’s also AC current only, so not too useful for flashlight / battery testing. Still at $11 it might be useful for homeowners wanting to check for overloaded circuits. If I find any for a penny, I might take a few for use as a cheap DVM. Can’t be any worse than the free HF DVMs.

Anyone seen a good price for a pressure washer? Thanks!

well, went back to check about 2 boxes of armormax 3Ds i had seen when they were still at the 3 price. they were on an overhead shelf, and i thought maybe i will spiderman my way up. come to see they have been moved to over the overhead shelf with the netted enclosure… can’t spiderman my way into that… think i could risk asking an employee to get me a few of those?

i found and bought some of those maglite 2D xenon bulb replacements for a penny  no use for them, but hey they cost me a penny each - again thanks to dchomak for alerting; they were actually marked at 1.03 - who would buy them for that price?
