Regarding the spacing between the two buttons, unfortunately that part isn’t easy to tweak… Sorry about that!
About the possibility of somebody with a grudge, yes, I thought about that too. I could add some checks against that, but I really don’t think it’s necessary, because (1) the hits aren’t permanent, and (2) at least you’ll know that somebody has a grudge against you. :smiling_imp: And I guess (3) would be that expressing a grudge via the Rudeness Level meter is less bad than expressing it in writing on the public forum.
Yes, the level can go overboard. Basically, that meter is normally for a different purpose, but it was the closest thing I could find to the functionality I needed. In the context of this system, consider anything over 1 or 2 to be a problem, and 10 is absolutely shameful. Anything over 10… well, a psychiatrist be in order!
By the way, how did you pull off the 11/10 rudeness level already? Marking your own posts I assume?
t would be nice to have an ignore user button if that’s possible. Not that I’d ignore any of the wonderful members we have here. But it would solve a lot of problems I would think.
But yes, I marked my own posts. I’m at 20/10 now. I doing a bit of Q/A testing for you. I wanted to see if a crash would occur if my rude meter went too high. However, I’m getting tired of hunting down my own comments to mark myself down.
You know what’s funny? Sometimes on the confirmation page, I see an ad for “Best Tactical Flashlight. 800 Lumen MilTac Survival Torch. Same Tech Used by U.S. Navy Seals.” Can we mark that rude too?
Very nice! but what if a users start to abuse the Rude! button and reports a large numbers of posts from the same user? Is there a limit of how many rude reports can someone submit in a day?
Maybe implement a “rude validity” rule, X amount of rude reports to score a rude point?
Question, does the button have a second confirmation page like the Mark as SPAM button? I sometimes press the wrong button specially when on my smartphone. Thanks!
Sorry I can’t put it on the confirmation screen, but I did manage to display the comment with a link after confirming, so you can click back to it and un-flag it.
I saw something I thought quite rude
It displayed really poor attitude
You can say what you want
But deliver a taunt
And you’re liable to start up a feud
It’s shame when these things must be viewed
Because personal jabs are so crude
It is never alright
To go starting a fight
And it always destroys the good mood
Our enlightenment should be pursued
So that none of us feel devalued
A too hasty reply
Can make things go awry
Let us try to keep anger subdued
