[2016-06-11] Crackdown on rudeness

Question, does the button have a second confirmation page like the Mark as SPAM button? I sometimes press the wrong button specially when on my smartphone. Thanks!

I’ve done that as well Alex. That’s an excellent suggestion…

Yeah. You can try it by marking yourself as rude.

Oh, I see it does! Thanks!

As a Canadian, this make me feel right at home.

Sorry I can’t put it on the confirmation screen, but I did manage to display the comment with a link after confirming, so you can click back to it and un-flag it.

Ha! Sorry about that one. Not an ad that I personally placed. :disappointed:

I saw something I thought quite rude
It displayed really poor attitude
You can say what you want
But deliver a taunt
And you’re liable to start up a feud

It’s shame when these things must be viewed
Because personal jabs are so crude
It is never alright
To go starting a fight
And it always destroys the good mood

Our enlightenment should be pursued
So that none of us feel devalued
A too hasty reply
Can make things go awry
Let us try to keep anger subdued

Good idea, how about for every rude point you give, you get one yourself, that will slow down pushing the rude button just because you don’t like the poster :smiling_imp:

Cheers David

Thanks Jack! You rock.

A brilliant and great idea sb. One question, should we use this going forward, or go back and mark rude posts that have occurred recently?

Thanks cabfrank. I’d say any post is subject to scrutiny. It’s not necessary to go through old posts with the purpose of marking the rude ones, but if you run across one by all means hit it.

Awesome!

Nice feature. I suspect a few members will be in for a… rude awakening :stuck_out_tongue:

thanks SB !

Sounds good, thanks. I think some have probably been edited anyway. I hope this is successful, and returns our great forum to the way you, and most of us want it.

My pleasure, and thanks for the suggestion related to this feature that you made in another thread.

This seems like a silly and unnecessary addition to the site. I don’t notice much rudeness on this site.

that difference in “reading and interpretation of the written” is maybe the reason that some people are rude and cannot even imagine others are hurt

that button might help to grow even more internationally
