New Sunwayman T16R convex lens shorty

Specs don’t raise much interest, but the design! one of the best looking shorties…

Nice, very short, a bit fatty. A pity the totally flood lightbeam. Waiting for the price, I think I will order one.

I’m thinking modification… :smiling_imp:

For making it a bit less flooder? does it possible?

I would need to get my hands on one to see, but i think it could be possible.
If not, a new ESw driver to boost it up some, seems a fair bit mass - thick walls.

Wait, just had another look at the specs - deal killer - 24mm wide at tail but takes 16340 cell?!
What were they thinking…
T18R would sound much better anyway

Looks like a 16340 sized version of the T26C. Hopefully wide enough to hold an 18350.

I own a T26C, but am not impressed:

  • Bad UI with no shortcut to min.
  • No moonlight mode. Even low mode isn’t that low.
  • Button is hard to find by feel. Often takes multiple tries rotating the light to find the button.
  • My sample is tan colored. Looks good, but the texturing on the anodizing is horrible (at least in my opinion). It feels like I’m holding a stick of chalk. It has that same hair-raising feeling. The only other light I own with texture that feels like this is my Olight S10 in brushed Titanium. I can’t stand this kind of texturing. I hate it. However, I own other Sunwaymans that have excellent anodizing so this might just be specific to the tan color.
  • Bezel is glued in. I couldn’t remove it, but didn’t try all that hard.
  • Without removing the bezel, my assessment of the head is that it is very small without much mass. It’s also probably too short even to make into a small triple. Mod potential is low.
  • Beam pattern looks just like an aspheric in flood mode. No rings and it’s fairly bright. Brighter than most stock aspherics, but not brighter than a modded aspheric. However, it feels a LOT less useful than an aspheric since the Sunwayman does not zoom.
  • Sunwayman’s ads marketed the T26C as the smallest 18650 light ever made… but it’s not. It’s about the same size as the much, much better Zebralight SC63. And the DQG Tiny 18650 is noticeably smaller.

Nice light but it needs moonlight mode and a shortcut to that mode from off position. It also needs low voltage indicator. Thr anodizing looks quality, like its beatblasted.

I have a t26c, and compared to my Olight s1 and s2, this light is not just floody it is a mule, and my first of its kind. I love it. Vihn did a slight current bump to 900 lumens and also offered a neutral white. He also stopped offering the mods shortly after listing them due to the work involved and the return on investment. The light doesn’t have a shortcut to low, but has last mode memory. To each his own, but this is a very useful beam. I don’t need a laser beam thrower to take the dog for a leak or change a tire. The most surprising thing to me was the weight. Without a battery the light weighs next to nothing.

yes but you cant compare your vinh light with the original. I need moonlight often because i dont wanna get blinded at night when i wake up and i dont like mode memory because i just cant remember on which mode i turned it off. Mode memory is only ok when you have shortcuts like the olight Sx series. Maybe this light dont need moonlight because the lens make it dimmer than normal anyway
