OK folks, Here is the New OrcaTorch T11
This is the new AA Model with an advertised 190 lumen output on Turbo and very usable lower modes, all without any detectable dreaded PWM that I could see. I tried it against a Box Fan as well as running water and can so no flickering/strobe action, so that is a welcome thing.
This is a very nice small High Performance AA flashlight with very good output, Great build quality with plenty of well cut threads on the tail cap and it came well lubed. Has nice thermal management and light weight.
Anodizing is superb and it has a nice feel in the hand.
Modes are in this order, Low, Med, High, Turbo, Strobe & SOS with no memory and it always starts in Low.
It has a very nice Turbo, High is just a small amount lower in visible light to conserve power, Medium is just that medium but the real treat here is a very nice usable Low mode, a good 10 lumen output for reading a Map in the car without having the dome light on.
Tint is nice Pure White and beam is a nice hot spot with fade into nice corona.
The nice Strong Deep Carry Clip is also a great touch. Came with a nice belt holster, AA Battery, lanyard and extra O rings.

In closing this is a well built EDC light that is tuned for AA use and is well regulated and steps down as voltage drops. It’s a Tough little piece that has just the right size to it and performs well. If the head were not glued and it had mode memory I would call it perfect.
With the 2 Year warranty it shows that the manufacturer believes in their product, they didn’t build a cheap flashlight, they built a Durable Well Built flashlight.
Open disclaimer, I received a discount in exchange for a fair and honest review, Thanks to OrcaTorch for the opportunity.
Hope you enjoy the review and make sure to get one while they are on sale.

So sorry, Beam shots ended up with bad white balance, my fault with wrong camera settings, will update pics tomorrow.
Edit 7/1/2016 Beam shots updated, this is as close as possible with my camera to what you see in person. Still more green than actual.

Thanks!
Keith

Thanks for the review…
Awful Pure Green Tint.

No, bad white balance on cheap camera, I should have tried different setting, sorry.
I’ll try again tonight.

Seems pricey for what they’re offering.

Muto… I received one as well. I completely agree with your summation. I will not be posting a review here as it would be identical to yours. I did post the first review on Amazon, if anyone is interested.

I really like it. 14500 and memory would make it just darn near perfect!

Thanks Matt!

I new whoever posted it on Amazon was well versed on flashlights and thought it may be a member from here but wasn’t sure who it was.

And to member greenlight’s point, it is not a cheap flashlight but that was not their intent. It is glued like the Zebralights, so it is not intended to be mod friendly by the Mfg. That can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on the users skill level.
I must say it is darn hard to get most flashlights apart without getting some dust on the reflector and once it’s there….

Anyway it is what it is.
Thanks
Keith

+1
A little over priced but nice.

Nice review!
On first beamshot picture, I thought the lines were PWM

   Cheers for your review.

At a first glance this should cost about $20-$25…almost $40 is too expensive.

Thanks for the review, Muto. Picture #6 had me confused for a while; thought this light has a head spring (+ve) as well! (does it?)

Cheers.

No head spring, here is picture down the throat as it were. Brass colored contacts.

HTH
Thanks again!
Keith

Mine hasn’t arrived yet, still waiting.

Question, you say ” well regulated and steps down as voltage drops”
does that mean a low voltage warning stepdown? Or a slow decrease in brightness as the battery gets drained?

Thanks for the review.

I put a Keepower 3.7V 14500 in mine and it works just fine.

How much did you all pay for the torch with the promise to review it?

They sold me one for $5 from Amazon.

This was the first time I’d been offered a discount on a purchase with the agreement to review it.

I pointed out part of their description was copied from a different manufacturer of a 4AA flashlight.
They replied

and later

That seemed bogus. Anyone know? I wondered who’s giving them advice about how to sell on Amazon.

I wrote an honest review at some length, stating what I paid and what I thought needed improvement and why.

They asked me to change it after I posted it, for reasons I won’t (yet) post here, but I wonder if anyone else had such happen.

I have been too busy to post my review. I paid $5 as well. This is a $20 light at most. It isn’t a good tactical light because it starts on low and has a reverse click switch. I am wondering if this “review plan” of theirs is not going well.

How long has it worked fine??? Brightness increase?

PM sent.

All in all I have run it for an hour. Not straight for one hour. The brightness didn’t really impress me, I have no real way to measure it.
