Meritline Turn Off

I wanted to alert the BLF community about an experience with a product I purchased from Meritline.com.

BLF thread on this located at: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/4878

On 11-16-11 I ordered what thought was an UltraFire C10 with a T6 XM-L emitter. The listed price was $14.99, so I figured I'd roll the dice on this and see what happens.

In this case the gamble did not pay off.

What I received was a C10 with what is probably an R2 or Q3/Q5 emitter, 10mm star (not attached to the pill), and the CREE logo painted over, but is still readable through the paint.

I don't know how to post pictures yet on BLF. Do I post them online and then link to the online images?

PayPal dispute filed.

BTW, I really like the C10 form factor and the reflector depth. I'd like to see what an XML in this host could do...

Thanks for the heads up. That's a problem with Meritline unless it ships from there US warehouse they drop ship so you can never be sure if you are going to get what is pictured.

To post picture on here set up an account with Photobucket post them there and then link them to here. PM me if you want help I can walk you through it.

when i cancelled my order (noted in other thread) they asked why and I told them the photo didn't match description, different emitter, they thanked me for notifying them, and then sent you that light anyway

ML can be weird. I had about a twenty orders with them that were nothing short of perfect. Then I ordered some gadget (I think it was a laser-light-combo-keychain thing) which they had on sale for $1.99, limited quantity, with a coupon code they had on their own website.

The order goes through fine (and shows a total of $1.99!), but when I check my Paypal account, it shows the regular price, which was $4.99 or something like that. At that point, I assume that has to be a bug of some sort and send them a polite email to let them know and ask them to refund the difference when they get a chance. They reply and flat out tell me they won't, because the coupon ran out while I was checking out.

Mind you, this is over something like three bucks. I could have and probably should have just let it slide, but I can be pretty stubborn. The time I and their customer service have invested at this point is easily worth more. To be fair, the did eventually refund the difference after I asked them if they thought losing a customer for good over pocket change was a smart move.

They sent me 2 from us warehouse because I paid extra for shipping. Still they send wrong emitter even though I sent them an email to make surit they are xm-l and they assure me that they were xm-l ???? I called them, talked to someone, she tOok my number down and never called me back. Bait and switch

My first order from Meritline was this Coast knockoff when I got it it was DOA I had a new one in 4 days since it shipped from the US warehouse, I eventually got the broken one working. This was several years ago I still have two of these lights they both still work and these are very high quality knockoffs kind of expensive. I saw the identical light at Home Depot for $40 so I am happy. I have bought tons of other gadgets from them over the years there remanufactured stuff seams to be the best. There customer service really depends on who you get, it can be horrible or great depending on the agent you talk to.
