Reflector revised: ReyLight Pineapple Brass 14500/AA Flashlight, Nichia 219C 4000K

I love copper and brass

You have my interest !

Proto done, pls check the 1st post.

It looks real nice! How long until the production model?

Looks great! Should be a winner….

Both models look very nice.

What size driver and emitter board will it take?

Nice one RayLight Brassy! :+1:

I’ll take it in copper if it’s reasonably priced (like $50). No interest in Brass or Damascus for $500.

I like the brass prototype, would be interested in a copper version… The Damascus one has flat spots in the tube for logos but it could look out of place if there’s no engraving. I think a knurling or tube pattern will suit it better.

14.6mm driver, 10.5mm star.

The flat spots don’t look good on brass, but I think it will looks great with dama paterns.

First thought is 0.2-3-25-100 lumens on Nichia, but we just found that 0.2lm is barely noticeable. pictures below:

Those modes sound almost perfect, though I’d suggest making the two middle modes slightly higher. Like, 0.2 lm / 5 lm / 32 lm / 100 lm.

How bright was the room when those pictures were taken? A 0.2 lm mode is only for use in very very dark places… It’s fairly common, when someone turns on a light in moon mode during the day, that they won’t realize it’s on without pointing it at their face.

Thanks!

I’m always looking for nice small hosts which can be modded easily, and this sounds promising.

outer size: 20.5*91mm (this might change)

How much are we talking about for the brass? Just a ballpark figure is good for now…

interested

Approx 50$, shipped.

Looks promising.
Is there any plan for copper version?

Interesting. It looked smaller than that.

I have a couple brass 18650 lights which are about 20.5mm * 97mm, and some brass AA/14500 lights which are 17mm * 76mm. So, those are both possible. They’re not as detailed though, the body accents are shallower, the switches aren’t recessed (only flush), and they don’t have any diameter difference between head and body.
