A first look at the BLF/Kronos Limited Edition X6/X5 SS & Cu Boxd Set

Waaaaaaaaah!!

You are torturing me big time!
Now it is even harder to wait for the lights to arrive here in Germany!
Unfortunately the lights will for sure fritter away another week or two at our snail-customs for clearanceā€¦ :( :( :_(

Insanely beautiful lights. I wish i had joined before this forum. Lucky you guys
Doesnt matter i already ordered SS under Astrolux brand.

THanks for the review friend.

Does anyone know any thread with Run times and lumens charts?? big help.

Seeing this makes me soo annoyed that my order was completely stuffed up by banggood. They look soo good with their matching numbers in the nice box.

From 19 and 150 on the original reserve list with boxes to no boxes, no matching numbers and random serial numbers towards the 400 range.

Iā€™m really sorry to hear that, buddy. Yeah, BG really banged a lot of people good by not informing their warehouse how these should have been shipped. What a freaking nightmare that whole deal was for us. SUCH a headache. :frowning:

Itā€™s all good now. The lights themselves are fantastic. Just would have been that extra bit nice to get the full set.

If your trying to make me feel guilty its working. :person_facepalming:

I traded my # matching boxed set for a pair of unmatched lights, which I use every day

I purchased 3 X5s and one matched set. They are absolutely beautiful lights! I have unprotected cells in them. Do you know if they have a low voltage protection to keep the blue switch light from draining the battery too far?

No, there isnā€™t any kind of low voltage protection for the draining of the blue taillight. A full cell should last about two months. Either take out the battery when not in use, or monitor the taillight for excessive dimming.

Ok good to know. I didnā€™t see it anywhere that I could find. I have had a different light kill some good cells due to this.

I edc these at workā€¦ getting a good workout and some patina!

I donā€™t know how, but i missed this GB on this setā€¦ maybe some day before i die i may find a set up for sale somewhere in the worldā€¦ :weary:

There have been a few for sale, and of course the astrolux versions still for sale. The tough part is that, especially including the box, the shipping on such a heavy set isā€¦ ridiculous.

I recently received aluminum versions of both the X5 and X6 and they are absolutely phenomenal lights. They are just ridiculously powerful for their size; especially the X5. I think of it as a dragster every time I use it or describe it to someoneā€¦ unbelievable output but for a very short time due to the small tank.

The X6 is a very nice light also, but Iā€™ve been spoiled by a djburkes FET modded C8 and Iā€™ve got to compare it to that. If I didnā€™t have the djburkes light Iā€™d have been blown away by the X6. But the X6 wins for size, grace, and lack of bulk combined with output. The djburkes light has extreme throw and thatā€™s what I wanted with it. But the C8 host, no matter how beautiful, is a truck as compared to the X6. But the djburkes C8 is in my EDC pack along with an easier to get to BLF A6.

Both of these ā€œoff the shelfā€ BLF special edition lights (X5/X6) are just fantastic. Kudus to all who were involved! They are my ED lights ā€œso that I donā€™t trip over the dogs at nightā€ lights and they will do so much more when itā€™s called forā€¦ for things that go bump in the night. So in one way or another, all of my SHTF lights, at home or in the pack, are all BLF lights right now. Of course the L2 and L6 are always there for chores and such as well; canā€™t discount those.

OKā€¦ so now the Q8 and thatā€™s it! Right? Hey guys (no gender intended)ā€¦ thatā€™s it right? Guys?

BrianK you should know better  It never stops around here. It may lessen up a bit for a season, but something else is always on the horizon. I try to keep a running list of the ā€œspecialā€ stuff going on here: BLF Special Edition Lights - Master List

Yup, that bothered me too. The tailcap can be given a partial twist to break the circuit. I think of the blue light as telling me that the light is functional.

Yeah emarkd, I was just joking. I need to find a balance though.

I donā€™t think the tail cap lockout will work on the SS or Cu versions. You canā€™t break the circuit that way. That would be fine for the aluminum version.

Yes, thatā€™s what I have. Sorry, I must have missed that.

Hi BrianK,

Could you use PTFE Plumbing tape on the rear body threads?

Just a thought.

Splott-Light

I donā€™t have the problem with it. Mine is anodized alumā€™, so I just unscrew the tailcap a bit.
