Official Thread for COMETA Refunding - Problem solving

My email exchange with Banggood:

I requested a refund, they requested a video and photo of the shipping label.

I referenced this forum thread and requested a refund. They offered and new pill and insulating sheet.

I pointed out that my lens was cracked and the light wobbled. They offered a new light with everything fixed.

I declined based on feedback from this forum and again requested a refund. They issued a full refund.

I did not have to file a claim with PayPal. I received the refund today.

:+1:

Cyberscudo (the one who received a light with JAX Z1 written on it) if you read this your comments are strongly desired by the Miller.
If you could be so kind to answer all the pm from the staff, that would be good also.

Amen! :+1:

Can you send me a private message, I would like to have you mail me the parts.

Paul

I don't see JAX Z1 written anywhere on this Final Sample detailed here: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/37235/577. Are you saying he did not receive this light and did not take all these pictures?

Oh boy - I'm totally guessing here: maybe he received those first 3 pictures from Manker/BangGood, then took the remaining ones of the one he received which was a modded Z1? I notice now those last 3 pics are hiding the area of the name plate. The 11th picture does show the CPF Italia logo, so maybe this was just a mix of pictures from different sources combined together in one post?

Yes Tom, it is a guessing game, please Cyberscudo just come out!

And correct me if I am wrong
CPF Italia wants my:
Email
PayPal
Order number
Tracking number

Is it OK to change some letters to an X because I really feel like I should not give this info.
So I am going to gather the info asked for but will put some xx where letters go, is that OK?
(Seems like a lot of work besides taking pics and emailing banggood but I applaud your work and know you want it to stand strong
Thanks again for your efforts!

I'm just trying to find out, as best we can, what happened. Buddha keeps claiming Cyberscudo didn't receive a Cometa final sample, but we have those pics staring at us from his post. So I'm thinking now in all innocence, the pics that show the Cometa branding was not in his hands, just that he put together a collage of pictures to document the production light as best he could. I might have done the same thing under the circumstances - he probably honestly wanted to present all the info he had together in one post. Sadly, there was some shell game, or just really bad or missed communications goin on he probably wasn't aware of that was in progress, or about to happen.

Well, this is all a possible scenario anyways... I passed along my order info, so sure whatever happens will take time. All I got invested so far is some parts (about $20 - replacement lens for the cracked one, LED) and some modding time.

“We have not reached a deal about the refunding of the shipping fees.”

If I have to pay the shipping costs myself this will be a no go for me as it is about $70 tracked for me to receive a $40 refund :person_facepalming:
I will wait to see if a deal can be struck for either BG to cover the shipping costs or not require the return of the light before pm”ing my details.
One thing, & I am no way disrespecting the work you & Buddha have put in to try & sort this out, but why are our details even required ?
BG will already have all the necessary details surely ?

We need
your Banggood email, your paypal email, your order number, transaction number and tracking number.
We know it’s a lot to ask.
If you (The Miller, or any other member) send us a partial number (with the XXX), we don’t know if it is enough.
If you send us a partial number, we may ask you again for the whole information in the future.

At the moment, the member who are unhappy don’t have pretty much choiche.
If you stick with what we asked, we may come up with something  .
We don’t know the details yet.

Banggood asked me these details because based on the number of users who demand a refund, they will decide whether to give it or not.

Our order numbers alone should be sufficient to prove we have the lights and to tally how many refunds might be necessary. Frankly, there isn’t a need for all that other stuff.

And, if they were to actually offer full refunds- which they won’t, this is just another way for them to stall- people would come out of the woodwork wanting to be added to the list because, as it stands now, only the really vocal ones are even discussing their dissatisfaction openly.

I too have a Cometa and I am unhappy with it.
It works, but does not consistently change modes correctly and rattles unless it is fully zoomed.
The led is not centered and appears to change positions.
I did the spring gasket thing for safety’s sake.
The annodized disc looks okay and solder points look pretty good, although the wires are small.
I have not burned myself on a hot spring and the light itself does not seem to get too hot. It also does not get as bright as I thought it should.
There appears to be a slight fogging of the lens after it is on for 30 seconds or more.

I started to file a claim with BG, but they would not accept it without pictures and or video.
The light I received is not the light that I ordered and I would like a refund, but don’t want to jump through hoops to get it.
They know there is a problem and just don’t want to fix it.

Well to aid in this all I pmmed the asked info
It is good work is done so thanks for that.

hallo.my friend wanted to buy this one…

is it still light with issues?i was not following this thread, cos i dont want zoomie anymore…but i read many many reviews with different experiences….and not sure to buy this one for user, who is not able to repair or fix the parts…

Didn't know it still was around. I sure wouldn't buy one at that price, but I haven't, and not aware of any recent purchases and experiences.

Lots of cautionary videos on YouTube showing the problems and what to fix to prevent the flashlight from short-circuiting.
See the many related videos.

When Jeromel visited me I had the chance to compare my jaxman Z1 with his Brinyte B158
http://www.gearbest.com/led-flashlights/pp_263535.html

Still like the jaxman a lot but the Brinyte is really nice and good, same price as this Coeta with who knows what problems for about the same price. Either buy a cometa from a BLF so you know what you get or get another zoomie is my recommandation

No, don’t buy it at that price (I am seeing $59.95) ….

If you can get it for $20 - $25 US go for it as long as it is working when it arrives.

Then do the simple fixes that are outlined, BEFORE YOU USE IT and all will be well.

BUT… do the simple fixes………………

Or just go here and get the real deal……… a Jaxman
