Some information:

my estimated lumens (Trevilux-Box) for NimH comparing with my other references in 2016 for 1xAA lights (klarus mi7 / Manker E11 / JetBeam Jet-I mk):

values for NiMH and 14500: brand values and estimated values:

Without battery: 26 gr.
With Energizer Ultimate Lithium 42 gr.
With 14500 Klarus battery 48 gr.
With Eneloop NiMH 1900 mA 53 gr.

Completed the review in spanihs in the Blog: http://luxlinternas.blogspot.com.es/2016/10/review-klarus-mi7-xp-l-hi-v3-1xaa14500.html

I have make 2 version in english of the runtime graph for show here in BLF (review with one unit bought by me)

1. Tested without fan in the hightest modes with NiMH Fujitsu 1.900 mA and Klarus 14500 (800mA), for see datail of step down;

Now complete runtime without fan, with the same batteries:

When finish I remove the battery and I have measured 3.12V with the Klarus 14500 and 0.9V with the NiMH:

Nice video. Thanks for posting!

Thanks woytas!
Next week I will start the “writing review” (now I am very busy).

For me Mi7 one of the best AA. Why? :

  1. High compatibility AA batteries (NiMH, alkaline, Primary Lithium, LiFePO, 14500 +protected +and unprotected…)
  2. Efective lockout: other offers electronic lockout but, this is very safety (5 seconds for lockout, 3 fast press for unlock)
  3. Offer a battery check (0-30/30-70/70-100 % )
  4. Low battery protection.
  5. Over 200 lumens with NiMH, over 500 lumens with 14500.
  6. Direct access to low mode or to high mode.
  7. Nice design, tailstand, 3 colours available,….

Yep, I like it too. The only two negatives so far to me, that it comes without the clip and NW tint.

Some data, meassured with my lux/box (% of mistake is possible)

What do you think…for a light of 26 gr……is enough?..;-))
bezel 19mm diameter, body 17.6 mm………

Nice review, seems like a nice light. I’ve got a Jet 1 MK in route, I’ll probably pick this up next.

Nice review of a light to consider.

Thanks for comment!!

Hi MG!
You are welcome.

bada, bada bumppppppp :stuck_out_tongue:

Nice title :stuck_out_tongue:

How do you like it compared to the Jetbeam MK1? I like the MK1 a lot for its extreme lightweight, but the output on NiMh is lacking.

You can see at the end of the the video, beam of JetBeam and the Klarus. I like the Klarus with Primary Lithium is really lightweight!! With 14500 JetBeam is also great with 14500 (of course, with XP-G2, JetBeam -I mk can not be as powerful as Klarus or Manker with XP-L Hi).

But for use with NiMH, JetBeam Mk is much lower than Klarus (Mi7) or the Manker (E11)…

very nice review - thanksfor your work!

Dang, based on that video I think I should have gone with Manker E11 NW in the first place. Will probably sell the Mi7 right away and get the Manker. Much nicer tint, much floodier beam pattern, which I think is better for a pocket EDC than maximum throw.

K.

Hi Kusie:
Manker is good with NiMH, but for 14500 they force me to use unprotected 14500, and I hate 14500 unprotected. I love the battery check for NiMH and for 14500 of the klarus Mi7. I prefer Klarus, 2 option Manker and 3 option JetBeam (but for price JetBeam is really also a good option).

Modding the tailcap with a 12mm*2mm Neodymium (might swap to a 3mm)

excellent! Do you lose the ability to use a lanyard?

Nope, thanks to the chanfer

I’m really liking my Mi7 also. I do wish it had a pocket clip though so I put mine on on a P7 clip but it takes longer get get out of my pocket than it would wit an actual clip. It has also turned on high in my pocket a couple to of times, but overall it’s one of my favorite AA lights.
