Wow, sounds great! Definitely in, I can’t wait to try one out camping! Love the choice of 7A3 tint, it’s definitely my favorite so far. The candle/warm incandescent/sunset-golden-hour-like tint, almost campfire-like, seems to be ideal for use in a lantern. 
I’ve been itching to make up my mind and mod one of my cheapo old plastic lanterns to use a 7A3.
What is happening?

If a manufacturer can still be found and negotiated with to build this it will be done. While the prototype is a great success in eliminating the many common problems found in other LED lanterns on the market, we still need to find & seal a deal with a manufacturer to build then into production.
You ought to try and piggy back with The Miller on the SRK project with Thorfire. Two heads, one body. Would be a win win.
it could work, but i am unsure how far he has worked into his SRK project already.

The talk of teaming up with the q8 sounds worth checking out, thinking logically a lantern and torch could very feasibly share a lot of components.
miller has not shown any interest in adding this to that project, and the last member who was going to help push this in to a production model bailed due to work loads, etc. At the moment its in the air and looking for help to get it going into a production model, while in the mean time the prototype has proven itself over & over again as the best most usable LED lantern i ever used & have.
I would definitely go for this lantern.
I too would like to see this lantern come to life. It may be premature to say I would also like to see how it worked with an ET-E and a remote phosphor as my contest effort has yet to get beyond the pile of parts stage. However…
As for combining with the miller super SRK project, it sounds cool, but the two uses are quite different. One is a low output lantern, the other a high output. Would that not need different drivers that change with the head? That will boost price and I don’t think that interests the high output project. Just a guess.
Anyhow I am still interested in this lantern. It would ne nice to be able to do a comparison between this prototype and my remote phosphor.
Aw, I’ve been so eager for the Q8 and this project that the prospect of sharing the body was very exciting. I really, really want the lantern project to succeed, as this design seems better than just throwing some diffuser on top of the Q8.
