Disappointed with my Klarus Mi7

May be your Nitecore EA11 has large parasitic drain, but my 2 Nitecore EA11 lights do not.

Actually I think it’s a defect only present in some EA11 samples. I saw people reporting the same problem on CPF. Some had the problem some did not. Also my EC11 and EA21 do not have the problem.

Great, I was hoping that somebody would make a comparison between Manker E11 and Klarus Mi7.
Looking forward to this and thanks!
K.

I don't care what ceiling bounce might say, I go with what my eye says. And it say's this thing sucks. It's true my particular Mi7 could be on the lower end of the scale when it comes to output. But that's how I'm judging it. That being said, I'm not a happy camper. That's all I can say. Buy one at your own risk. Glenn*

I received the Mi7 from atbglenn over a week ago. I have to concur with him. The light is putting out maybe 300-350 lumens at best on AA/NIMH/or 14500. I Dont believe it recognizes a 14500 battery. IT IS DEFECTIVE. I contacted BangGood and after 3 back and forths, instead of replacement they want a Video. They have the original order # and understand that the light was sent from him to me, yet seem to doubt the word of two fairly experienced flashlight people from a reputable flashlight forum. Both of us have been around going on 5 years. However BanGgood resolves this is up to them. I refuse to make a video of a defective light. It would take an integrating sphere to get them to believe us. So Banggood, do as you see fit. I don't know how I could better convey to you that this is a defective light. The OP deserves a replacement.

How about amp readings as proof?

is not neccesary a sphere. I think with a luxmeter will be enough for see if there are the same output on the center of the beam with NimH and with 14500…

Point is, I’m tired of Banggood assuming people are stupid. To the general public, maybe that is the case. But on BLF, most of us are in the know.

Send out a light that is proclaimed to be puttin out a conservative 550 lumens is one thing. But 300-350 is UN-Acceptable Yes, 14500 yields maybe @ one hundred more lux than NIMH…but the total outut is still @300-350 lumens. This sample Mi7 is clearly a DUD… I don’t need the hassle of assembling a film crew to produce a video to prove that. It’s the principle of Banggood doubting buyers reports. Especially since this is BLF forum and the OP and I have been around going on 5 years now.

ETA: I won’t be commenting any more on this as it’s a souring experience. Through 4 exchanges, the ball is now in BG’s court. Some of you may say I’m not playing by their rules by not sending a video. If that’s the case, read the first paragraph above again

Let them do as they may.

Banggood is a store. They request a proof for not normal functioning…of course is a is a hassle, but is necessary.
Not every body is a good person and many people try to take advantage, they can not trust (of course I’m not talking about you, I do not know you). And the time it takes one on a forum is not a sign of anything. We must be realistic and not get angry …

Said I wouldn’t comment but forgot one piece of critical evidence. It’s the smokin’ gun.

The light does not step down…ever. That’s coz it never is in turbo mode. DEFECT

Thanks for listening.

So, the brillliant people at Banggood have read this thread and continue to Dodge, Duck, & Hide from admitting the light is defective… They do everything in their power to NOT REPLACE IT or admit that it IS defective. Here below is their latest 2 replies in private Email .

Dear Sir:

We are sorry for the inconvenience and* I am the professional guy*.For the defective flashlight can you please send us a video to show the working conditon? If you had reported the problem on the BLF forum then please send us the right link of the post.

After checking we could solve the problem for you.

best regards

Alysonhe

A professional guy…really?
So I sent them the link to this thread…And the PROFESSIONAL guy read it….and this is their ridiculous reply.

Dear Sir:

Thank you for your information and I checked it.For the problem did you meant that the lumens was not so bright as in the specification?Did you checked if the flashlight modes working normal?According to the other customers posts it seems that you need to change to other AA or 14500 battery for it.

Hope to hear from you.

best regards

Alysonhe

Really? So they can’t read OR just playing stupid to STALL? So you see they are just trying to put it off and grow some whiskers so the issue will go away. Piss Poor business pracitice. They get a lot of stuff right, but they sure back up to cover their butts when something goes wrong.

Dont’ really give a dam what they do. But they are not going to deny that it is a defective product and tell me I need to STICK other batteries in it. Banggood is showing their true colors when it comes to backing what they sell.

At this point, I think the PROFESSIONAL GUY is merely a bouncer. Someone to act dumb and chase the problem away, so they can keep YOUR ca$h. Pitiful.

Not sure if they’re playing dumb or can’t understand you well enough, I can only advise you to follow their “game” and say yes I tried to all of their questions. Eventually they will have to do something, if not then PayPal is the last resort.

To be fair, imagine you were bangood and on a daily basis you receive tons of claims but at the end 50% are just users fault, so they have to assume every consumer is stupid, add the language barrier to that and this is the result…

I make a video sometimes when receive a defective light for show to the seller that the light is defective…( wow…I make a video!!!)
If that does not arranged it, I open claim.
But I’m not kicking weeks and weeks and complaining ….

Banggood knows how to play the game and so do you. From your tone, I almost mistook you for a BG employee.

IMO the Mi7 does not live up to the hype even if some say it does. Other reviewers have said it is dim and quite a disappointment. With that said, carry on and defend it with all of your rhetoric. You do after all own one.

I was initially very disappointed when I found that my orders were backordered, apparently due to blue being out of stock. After what I’ve read here, I’m now thrilled that I was able to cancel my eleven Mi7 that I had ordered for gifts.

I’ll look for something else later. For now I’m just thrilled to have my $275 back!

My tone is to be an educated person.
My tone is tell you what I do in a situation like the companion forum.
My tone is not accuse anyone of anything, not even to mention certain anti-Store campaign ….
My tone, I do not click “rude” to say what a person thinks (I was marked yesterday do …. Why ?, freedom of expression with education bothers anyone here?) … .
My tone is to defend the logic and my tone is asking me why someone takes a lot of trouble for something, but do not want the make a small video.
My tone is always be honest.
bye guy.

The light is defective, seems yes. But the seller need evidence.
I have 3 units of Mi7 (one sample and 2 bought by me and 3 runs fine, Why can not defend the light? I am honest, I always buy one unit and some times 2 units of the lights that I test if I have receive a sample.)

Received mine in black today, seems very good quality and functionality and is bright but sure does not seem 700 lm. I realize the diminishing returns where a 1000 lm light doesn’t look twice as bright as a 500 lm and that the small diameter and size of the reflector impact beam size and throw while the coolish tint will tend to maximize the brightness to the eye. In comparison to my other 14500 capable lights the Mi7 is brighter than the Olight S15R and Thorfire TG06 but seems not quite equal to my NW Thrunite Archer 1A V2.

Light is certainly bright enough for EDC and is a great package in terms of size and function. Maybe it is 700 lumens but certainly not what most buyers were expecting

Mine will not be my EDC due to a low mode way too bright. And it certainly misses a moonlight mode for night fridge hunting…
Plus, red is not red but I already said that too many times :zipper_mouth_face:

i wish the red was like convoy s2+ red.

got black. im satisfied. slimmest side switch 14500 light i owned.

Did you ever think to take any measurements? If you own a smart phone or table, there are free lux meters you can install.

Visually “guessing” output is a very poor way of gauging how bright something is.
