EDC...how much $.. How expensive a light are you willing to edc ?

I really like my UF-2100 I just used it to hang Christmas lights outside in the dark.(If anyone asks why they would need to hang lights at night they must not be married). The 2100 is a bit long for my taste to EDC but if I was taking a long road trip or a long night walk that would be my light of choice. Most of the time for routine EDC work the little romisen RC-6 lights the path, lights under the hood finds the keyhole and reads the map every time. I ordered a Trustfire Z1 which might be the ticket for hands free work.

Max $50 for EDC.

I'm a po' Georgia boy, my most expensive light is my $69 M8.

Foy

My trusty E01 on my key chain at all time. So that's under 13 bucks.

My new edc Balder SE-1 N/W is on the way from CQG. And although i'm a budget buyer, i'm planning to buy Quark Mini CR2 or MiniX for my keyring. Most expensive one of my collection is UF 980L up to now.

My SC51C is actually getting some pocket time. Great light, but I want a SC51W for the lower low. My neutral S-Mini gets quite a bit of coat pocket time too.

Current EDC [~$15] UniqueFire UF-2100

Highest price light I own [two way tie @$25] KD C8 & UltraFire UF-H3B

I've been more or less permanently paired with my sipik sk68 for longer than I care to recall. Both using 14500 and regular AA and rechargeable AA. So sub 10 usd for long.

My newest aquisitions have not really replaced that.

Maximum price for a light? Well if looks to be THE light for me I don´t think 150 usd is out of the question. But it would have to a damn sweet thing though. :)

$1.99 tiny keyring light from a local store. Read "on sale" all of 5 lumens.

I never use it...

Never found a need for an "EDC". Our gated community is lit well, parking lots are lit well, streets are lit well, never walk at night unless it's to do with work and that light isn't an EDC. Just don't ever use an EDC.

Flashlight in the glove box, flashlights in the house and garage, but all of them most likely have dead batteries, since I never use them. I don't carry a pocket knife either.

I know I'm a sad excuse for any kind of a "holic". Used to be an alcoholic in a previous life, does that count?

I EDC all my EDC sized lights regardless of price, I currently only have one though. A Klarus mix6 key chain light.

EDC - $85 Nitecore D10 Magma. Fantastic light, still haven't found anything better.

Most expensive flashlight? Xtar Howitzer ($160) and Surefire L4 SSC ($130).

EDC free plastic button style keychain light.

Most expensive Zebralight H51f (excluding dive lights)

Any flashlight from DX will be $25 or less.

been edcing/worklight sc600 nice bright/floody.

I usually have two single AA lights on my person.

So EDC = $50/$65

Most Expensive light = $65

Most carried is a Lummi Wee XML, as it's on my keys. It's also got a qtc pill in, so is infinitely variable. After currency conversion, that was about a Ben Franklin. That admission alone is gonna get me kicked out of the budget club isn't it?

Oh, and my most expensive is my 500 lumen headlight, built from a lux-rc light engine, an enclosure from easy2led.com, and a healthy dose of plundered headlight parts from some unlucky petzls. Running through the woods at night like it's daylight? Priceless.

I usually carry my 4Sevens Quark1232 as my EDC but I will keep the Spark SL6 on my person as well. The 4Sevens set me back about 65 plus the 15 for the battery and the spark was 110 plus 20 for the battery.

Since all my EDCs have been modded by me in some way or another, I'll have to go with "priceless" ;)

(But the raw materials usually add up to less than 30€)

If I may assume you drive a car at night??, I would EDC a better light than a $2 keychain light or a glovebox light with dead batteries. God forbid, a night car accident, a breakdown or a flat tire on a dark country road would make a bigger working light worth its weight in gold or at least silver.

For my latest EDC flashlight it's the tank EO7 with three modes. If you guessed the BLF addition you are right. I like it. The previous lights that I used to carry around in my pocket have since bit the dust (an ultrafire c-3 and a uniquefire aa-s1). I'm liking the size and the modes on the Tank. So, I guess that just under $20 is the cost for my general EDC. But, if I'm going out on the town then that's another story. It might be the new EagleTac d25c mini and that raises the ante. For that I paid the princely price of $36.

Yes, on a dark country road, but I live in a city and drive the main loop to work & back (2 miles). If I ever do have a flat (haven’t had one in 20+ years), I will call someone to repair it. Don’t want to risk another stroke or heart attack changing a tire.

That's because there isn't a better light than the nitecore D-10.

Anyone who thinks that 's wrong has never had one .. as close to a perfect light as I've ever seen .
