I want to know if it would be possible to make or modify a board so that it only controlled the "modes" (hi, med, lo) and did not control the power output in any way. In other words Direct Drive with Modes.
Anyone of the gurus around that could show me how to do one? I like DD, but I would like to have the ability to have Hi, Med and Lo, without controlling the amps or volts. I'm talking about DD using 3 NiMH batts.
so like low one battery, med 2, and high all 3?
if so it would require 3 switches or a specialized switch with four positions, but this would leave all batteries draining at different rates, and be a mess of wires
if not, than im not really sure what you mean because in order to make the led brighter or dimmer, youd need to change voltage or current
3AA batteries on all 3 modes.
Yes use the board to change the current or voltage only on medium or low, but on high no regulation at all like the board wasn't there. DD on high, controlled on low and medium. Sorry for not explaining better. Hope it's clear as mud now.
