Zooming Model List (2018 Updated) Tell us about your newest zoomie!

Answering previous queries about the LED Lensers … they do have the nice round hot spot with no spill but I’ve been disappointing with the step down and run time of every one I’ve had … I’d never buy one again.

Coast’s hot spots depends on the model, some of them have just the hot spot and some the hot spot and spill, if you have a look on Coast’s website they show which each torch has …… scroll down the page a bit to the video and on the right hand side it shows the type of beam

I’ve very recently bought the Coast HP5R which has the tight hot spot and no spill …. I haven’t tested run times that extensively but I have to say so far I’m very impressed with the torch although one of the batteries wouldn’t hold a charge and the retailer have immediately replaced ….
Whilst I wanted a small light torch the retailer said the HP7R for not much more money was an awful lot of torch but obviously slightly bigger.

Has anyone got either the Ultrafire UF 10 or the Palight M” 600 Palight the OP provided links to at the beginning if the thread and if so what do you think of them???
I’m guessing with both if you zoom right in you’d bet the square rather than a round hot spot ??

I’ve just ordered UltraFire UF-10…could not resist checking new zoomie  Maybe this one will have good pill that allows to mod it with reasonable power.

Not sure probably square then you can back off a bit just until round. I haven’t been able to find much feedback or review on these Palight zoomies.

The Palights are interesting the M-600 looks just like the #3 M-900 I linked in the OP except the M-600 appears to have some sort of “touch switch”

The M-900 has a metal clicky? or maybe it’s also a touch switch ? (metal clicky per freeme’s comment in post #37 below) In the description it shows: “Stainless steel tail cap and copper shift switch

I got the UF-10 and OTR I3 on the way from GB. Actually the myib.com status shows departed the Alabama warehouse today. Ordered the 11th but paid the $1.57 for the supposed faster delivery service.

Ordered the UF-10.

Glad to see my name there, even if it is misspelled :person_facepalming: ,LOL 8) 8)

M900 switch is mechanical. Switch will not work if you use button top bat.

The XP-L and XM-L share the same dye size. They’ll make more lumens than an XP-G2, but won’t throw as far. So depends what your goals is.

The XP-L HI (or dedomed XP-L/XM-L2 as they are essentially the same), is a nice compromise. But a de-domed XP-G2 will again still out throw them.

Sorry - corrected, I didn’t even notice I misspelled it so thanks for pointing it out. My excuse is lack of sleep! :weary:

BTW, where can we buy the Odepro KL52 without the “kit” (battery & charger) at a Gearbest price level like the B158. The KL52 is much more expensive than similar B158 from gearbest.

Odepro is made by Brinyte correct? Please inform on where we can purchase for a decent price without kit?

So it’s similar to the Convoy s2+ metal switch?

Do you know of any threads or reviews on it?

Thanks,beam0. You’re so nice.About questions about KL52, you may contact directly with Odepro in BLF. (Sorry that we’re in different companies. :) :) )

Got my OTR i3 and U-F10 in today -- both are real nice. The i3 is very compact of course, but the U-F10 is what the SK68 should be - better quality all around, more compact, very pocket friendly with a nice clip - deep pocket style, and flexible enough to be useful. The zoom slide is wayyy too stiff though on the U-F10 - gotta see what I can do with it.

OTR i3 (I’ll follow up to that thread)

Funny comment that the zoom on the UF 10 is hard … the zoom on my i3 … it feels like there’s a complete vacuum and there’s absolutely no way you can release it with one hand but as soon as you “break the seal” it zooms as smooth as silk and will continue to do so for a while but leave it overnight and it’s “locked” again until you’ve got past that 1st forced movement again.

Is that true both when the barometer [air pressure] is rising and when it’s falling?

I have absolutely no idea … and to start monitoring air pressure to see if your torch will zoom on a given day would be a torch that personally I’d bin as I don’t have a barometer and have zero interest in buying one … especially as the other 4 zoomies I have don’t seem to be so air pressure sensitive!

oh, your local weather report will tell you

(the slider on the right side of the actual page shows the pressure change moving hour by hour)

This light may just have a good seal — a change in air pressure can make those hard to open — but chilling a well sealed tube would lower the pressure inside and any seal would then suck in air (or water), too, which might explain …

I’ll watch this with mine. I noticed, right out of the box, that it took some fiddling before the slider would move at all. At first I thought they’d sent me a non-zoomie! Then suddenly it zoomed.

No need for a barometer when you have a bad knee .

Hi guys, anyone bought this light before? (I just ordered one for mod  ) Will update once received and modded….
