I’m interested in a heat treated Nichia 219b version with 18650 tube (assuming the 18650 tube is also heat treated). If the 18650 tube isn’t available with heat treating I don’t want heat treating on the S41S.
With the overall bias towards selecting Nichias so far in this ‘Feeler’, and considering the obvious enthusiasm for the pair of Jaxman HiCri Nichia offerings in 4000k and 5700k, substituting the Cree with the cooler Nichia, or at least testing the audience by questioning their preference could be very interesting. Even better, imagine the audacity of including a 219C in the mix.
A clever manufacturer could perform a comprehensive market test of 4 Nichia options, with or without the Cree if they wanted to in a ‘Feeler’, settling on the most popular for eventual ‘general’ distribution.
Yes 219C 83CRI would be nice.
And XP-G3 NW would be nice, too.
Now, with the standard S41, there is only the choice between low lumen with high CRI in NW tint or high lumen with low cri and CW.
If that should happen, there must be the combination of higher CRI with not too less lumen, that means 219C and Higher Lumen in NW, that means XP-G3 NW or XP-L HI NW.
Wasn’t the major concern with the S41 the LED layout on the MCPCB? Is this one still going to have the positive end of the emitters on the outside with nothing but some masking to keep the screws from shorting out?
Glutton for punishment… Shiny so it must be better.
Put me down for S41S XP-G3 and 18650 tube. Heat Treated if the 18650 tube will also be heat treated.
