You guys were right, I contacted Simon regarding the problem with driver in Convoy L6 and he immediately jumped in to help and sent me a new driver for free.
I can not brag enough Simon will for assistance and support in everything related to his products.

I say order a new driver for less than five dollars from Simon. I’ll bet that fixes it.
Edit: maybe he’ll give you one for free?
Right about here is where I’d be stripping all the components off the driver that’s acting up and piggybacking an Zener modified FET driver on top of it for a tail-clicky-only monster XHP-70 build. 
(actually, I have a ramping firmware from TK that does the side switch… tail would lock it out and the side e-switch would ramp it up and down. Lovely firmware for a monster light!)
Thanks Glenn, I’ll put a new driver in it if I we can’t sort it out. It is just kinda the principle of the thing right now. I want to know why it isn’t working. 
We all want to know. Anyway, I’m sure it will end up in a positive way, one way or another. I’m sure Simon will take care of you.
IF I knew what I was doing I’d probably be doing something like that too…….

This type of thing is one of the reasons I do what I do. Simon truly cares about his customers and resolving any problems properly. I love hearing stories like this.

I was in the market for a light and had my choices narrowed down to 3, and this thread was the decision maker for me.
I didn’t just buy 1 convoy, I bought 3! 2X L60 and 1X BD01. You could say I’m sold on the Convoy brand. :+1:

A bit about me: I have a half dozen other lights on my desk too, as well as 2 lasers, and 3 chargers. The most common item on my desk is definitely haphazard batteries (or possibly tangled cables).
Of course all my friends have lights now too, and yep, you guessed it, flashlights are a common gift item from me. Pretty much, if it lights up or makes cool colors, I gotta own one, lol.
Im a geeky tech, and I actually had a business called Gizmo Guy…if you can believe that.
On the other hand [grins], forum be damned! I just ordered 3 convoy lights, another light, a bunch of batteries, and a new charger. I have no room left on my dektop….and it’s all your fault. There goes the Christmas budget too, lolz /humor

PS: Simon is one cool guy. I just asked how the SMO testing for the L6 was going, and he threw in a free one to test with my order.

That’s good news and this is the shorter of the two tubes? I used the longer 2/3rds tube to lego with the Jaxman X1 and was wondering if this piece would be good for anything now and it is so that’s great news,

Actually KB I’ve suspected that for a long time, and now I believe you’ve confirmed it for sure for me anyhow since I do see you as the master of the X1 X6 builds or at least I think perhaps the most builds maybe, don’t know really just MHO,
On Jack Mann’s Taobao site down at the bottom it’s linked to Convoy so thought either Jack Mann & Paul are having Convoy do their machining, and then seeing the reflectors for the X6 and L6 are exactly the same and then now with the realization and solving my power issues for the X1 by using that L2 extension and looking closer at the threading and knurling it’s kind of obvious to me and now your comment, but that is awesome I think, anyhow sure would love to pick the masters brain and that would be you please, this is my first for real build, I always say go big or go home so time to put up or blow up, either way… but I won’t hijack JDubs thread here, Thanks though KB, Oh ya, now for my disclaimer, this is just my stupid opinion and the only thing I know for a fact about anything is that I have stupid opinions, there saved someone the time, I hope… :laughing:

Not trying to be funny with my photos but I had figured out the interchangeable only because someone asked if anyone had tried the L2 ext on the X1 and I had tried everyone I thought I had and had forgotten I even had the two piece L2 ext because I got the blocked one piece from RMM and only because I don’t like the rings on the L2, but I sure do on this X1, and so a question and the light bulb clicks and the dig began and the thrill of seeing that L2 ext thread onto that X1 was unbelievable,
I was thinking prior to that I’d have to stack two 26350’s perhaps but not now, so it was a happy moment, and that’s it with the pics. My kids… ha
I got my Buck driver back from Richard today, working poifeckly, Thanks Richard! So of course I promptly grabbed a couple of the half cell 26350’s and de-domed an XP-G2 S2 0D, stuck everything back in the L6 with short tube and it’s now making 439Kcd for 1325.14M throw. The cells are well rested, partially used, and this bad boy rocks!
I just confirmed with Simon. The first ones did not ship with the goody bags. All orders placed after 9-06 will have the goodies. What he will do though for BLF is if you’ve already ordered your clear L6 just send him a message through the Aliexpress system and reference your order number and ask him for the bag of L6 extras. He will send them at no charge but they’re just going to ship plain old Hong Kong Post with no tracking. So, it may taker a little longer to arrive but he will send them. You just have to ask.
Wow…… Just wow…… I just received the two L6s, and held them in my hand for the first time. They look and feel sooo much more expensive. The machining combined with the finish is just amazing. It’s like an undetectable by radar kind of stealth black finish. I can’t wait to test this one out tonight, comparing with the Lumintop SD75. Keeppower 5200 mAh from Banggood are present as well. Amazing…
It’s a much different beam, but the L2 has much the same feel and look. Mine is now sitting with it’s one battery tube in place and it’s smallish and very powerful. Will it ever take the place of the L6? Definitely not.
