[Review] Manker T01 (XP-L HI V3, 1x AA / 14500)

I believe it’s threaded in.

This light doesn’t have lanyard hole?? Why?

Well I took it out for a walk last night, burned through a Efest purple mostly on turbo… it now it shuts down as it should, but it has to cool down from a mildly hot state (not warm but definitely not uncomfortably hot) before it can be switched on again. I’ve contacted Banggood with this new issue and waiting for their reply.

BTW: ktsl my light came with the lanyard attached to it’s pocket clip.

Mine arrived today without any springs in tailcap. Filed complaint with gearbest. What does it take to put in spring if they can get me one? How did it get out of factory like that?

Just ordered A GODMES T01 from BangGood, US warehouse with 20% discount code: 2ae5a1. Price was too good to resist.

For some reason, the US warehouse price was much lower at $39.95, then applying the code, it came down to $31.96, under 1/2 the price what many paid. In US, only 12 left in black, 3 now in white(I ordered a white).

I really hope those screws are there to secure the pill to the body. If so, looks easy to tear down. I want to mod it. Weird that nothing has been posted about modding it.

From the pics here, the screws are the key to disassembling it. I'm not sure how UPz got the side switch out, or the tail PCB board out. doesn't look like the switch retainer is threaded, so must be press fit -- no idea how it could be removed without damage.

UPz hasn't been online for quite a while, so no chance in getting any questions to him answered. I wish he could provide details on the full, clean disassembly.

arow55 - probably could solder it down without taking the PCB out, but would be much easier if you could, assuming the PCB id in place. Might have a pry point, if not, I'd solder from the top down as best as I could, using flux. I'll know more once the light arrives.

Thanks! How'd I miss that??

Ohhh - it's just a LED swap. I plan on the whole thing - driver and LED. Just updated a U21, using the RED LED in the switch as an locator LED and batt status, plus full ramping Narsil. Converted to a dedomed XPL, and get about 6A with about 240 kcd.

On your OP post here: http://budgetlightforum.com/comment/940022, the GearBest link in the first line is broke, and if fixed it goes to the T11, not the T01.

Ohh - I searched on only the GODMES T01, otherwise known as the Manker T01, or Manker Quinlan T01.... Boy oh boy...

Pretty sure mine’s box stock Tom, and as a small light it’s a very surprising thrower! Very neat light, easily carried. Like it a lot.

Excellent price you paid for this Godmes! I got mine for $38 a long time ago and thought I got a great deal. $31 and change is amazing. Envious of what are going to do to yours! I don’t care for the cool white on mine plus it is a rather boring UI, but it is a GREAT LIGHT, a must have. Are u taking orders ?

patrick

edit: just double checked, I paid $48!

I'm really lik'n the U21, the style, takes the heat well, plus running Narsil now with that cool dragon eye showing in red with the light off (locator function) - awesome, quite unique. Yea I agree - find it quite pocketable. The T01 is similar styling and design - not the best pill design, but I've worked and modded pills like it before - I'll see what I can fit in it. Should get it soon from the US warehouse.

Guess you have to wait a year or so to get the good pricing...

I snagged one of these too for that price (thanks for pointing it out). Just got it today. This little guy has some throw for its size! Tint looks nice indoors but i forgot how ass cool white looks outside. Tint choice might make this my favorite little single AA/14500 light. I will say i thought my light was a dud at first but i really had to tighten the tailcap to get it to turn on. I mean beyond tightened. Hoping the spring doesnt damage my cells. Nice little light though.

Could not resist for $32. Ok buying ban is reinstated today!! Blast you BANGGOOD! And Gearbest has some upcoming sales event….not looking promising!

Mine finally arrived today, in white/silver. Real nice! Small size for sure. Mine does say GODMES on it, like listed on BangGood. That pocket clip is real tight, though a nice deep pocket style - same as pictured in the OP here. I'm not familiar with od style or new style, so can't tell what it is. Mine came with a Manker lanyard attached on the clip - seems to work well this way.

On mine that I just rcv'd from BangGood, the reflector is not threaded. I just tapped it a few times on the table on the front edge after removing the bezel, and the reflector just popped out.

Gearbest gave me a whole new light. Love it. Any ideas how to rig up some spring so can have both running at the same time. Now I switch tailcaps. In the original post it shows some kind of tab sticking out from the spring assembly. What’s with that. How can it fit in the tailcap? Mine is not marked Godmes.

Any deal for the t01? I’d like a good 14500 light and this looks One of the best around

They recently announced the release of the T01 II which is why I suspect the original T01 was being blown out at suck a great deal. Bummed that I didn’t pick up another one, but I guess that means more funds available for the T01 II, when someone finally has it in stock and hopefully a GB deal comes up.

Actually, I looking forward to the T01 II as it is supposed to be more forgiving with regards to the length of the cells. My 14500’s are actually 50.9 MM and that extra .9mm means I’d have to crank down pretty hard on the tail cap, something I have no desire to do.

TBH, pretty happy with the output I’m seeing just from Sony and Energizer NiHM’s. Can only imagine what it would be like with a 14500. It’s my new favorite AA thrower and does a great job as a general area light when ceiling bounced.

Very nice review !
Is almost incredible what technology can do, from one AA cell to get 4-500 lumens, 10-15 years ago we can not imagine this.

Hope to grab the second version in short time, is an incredible flashlight.
In fact I’m impressed by all Manker lights till now, almost best balance price/quality/performance.

I’m also amazed with the Manker design and performance. T01 is the light that started my “flashlight sickness” However we know that price or quality control of Manker could be better…or preferably both. That leaves the space for other companies to jump in, as it already happened.

I receive the T01 II.
What a flashlight…I love it !

Incredible power light on AA NiMh battery, I find it more useful on AA NiMh configuration than 14500 because is real bright and have better runtime.

But, take care about button top battery (NiMh or 14500 ) is a tight fit ! sometimes don’t work. With flat battery is ok.

I used an unusual method to fit the button top NiMh, I smash the button with a hammer (but with max precaution ) and now is real ok, works great.
Don’t do that with LiIon battery !!!

If would have also a mini usb charger on board was great, but anyway I’m impressed, nice little light ! My sample have a neutral light which I like.

No other comments for the moment, good built quality, nice finishing, nice throw, even nice form factor with the big head comparing with the body
