I gutted an Eagletac M25C2 Turbo (a.k.a. Plunger) and added a fet+1 and a dedomed XM-L2 U4 1A…she throws like a champ!! Here’s a few comparison pics with a sexy beamshot at the end.

Second Astrolux SS arrived recently.
Decided to Fix one up. Both are 3B tint
Stock is on the Left, Fixed on the Right
Right one now has the 20mm MCPCB soldered direct to copper head. 20AWG wires to FET. Bypassed both Springs with braided copper.
The yellow Dim spot in the center of the spot is gone. Halo of the spot is also more white. More better now…
topping off batts to test current draw on each.
Convoy L2 with short tube, XP-L V6 1A dedomed, FET+1 and 2x spring bypass: nice beam, narrow spot, 280,000 cd at 6 ampere with Liitokala 5200. Handy thrower …
Tint doesn’t shift as much doing hot de-dome but it still shifts.
Lot of factors, including freshness of gas, ambient temperature and octane rating. Acetone, seems like that can give more shift than gas but again I’m sure there are variables.
Hot de-doming takes less than a minute and doesn’t stink. Haven’t done one in gas in quite a while now.
Today I glued some trits in the lanyard holes of my D25C ti.
I also never liked that the head always needs to be a bit unscrewed for the L-M-H setting. So I put a piece of kapton tape on the battery side of the pill. Now I can keep the head fully screwed in, as eagletac should have designed it :).
Finished my motorcycle auxiliary lights today as well.
xhp50’s in 12v configuration with a 3 amp driver for each. 36 watts from each plus the highbeam from the 7 inch JW speaker copy. Also running upgraded wiring/relays for the headlight.
These lights were used as hosts. Stock they’re pretty terrible. Tint was completely different between the two, and they came with XML’s that weren’t driven very hard. As hosts they are pretty good. I even reused the optics with the xhp50’s. All in cost worked out to something like $65 USD including a pair of 30A relays and wire.
I’ll get some pics up in the motorcycle thread after I get the belly pan mounted in the next couple of days.
