HKJ, I have a humble request for you when testing chargers. Could you add a chart comparison as to how fast a charger charges a device (at how many amps). Different chargers would have different charge rates and some would be faster/slower.
Data such as max charge amps etc could be nice or time to charge.

You can get a very good indication of that from my table: Index of tested and reviewed USB power supplies/chargers
Look at current for a single channel and look at “Standard”.
Standard=Auto and 2.4A for each port is the fastest charging for standard usb voltage.
I cannot do it better than that without testing with a couple of different empty phones and I am not going to do that.

I got my EDB-USB+ today and it is the version with a golden hs+fan even though the ebay listing shows the silver one .
Working fine too.

I have tested one: Performance test of 5V to 12V 6W boost converter
The usb input connector was not mounted, but as can be seen it has holes for it.

Oh, great!
Thanks
There are so much reviews on your website…
Can you please tell me if it’s good enough for powering small DSL-Routers like a Fritzbox 4020?
They usually have around 5W.

This one is rated for about 0.5A at 12V, but can deliver 1A (For a short time).

Found this on heise :
The USBKill, or USB Killer is a device used by pentesters, industrial clients and law-enforcement world-wide to perform security checks against power surge attacks on USB ports. USBKill.com is manufacturer of the USB Kill device, USBKill Shield -...
Would be a great addition to your reviews :sunglasses:
The USB Kill 2.0 is a testing device created to test USB ports against power surge attacks. The USB Kill 2.0 tests your device’s resistance against this attack.
The USB Kill collects power from the USB power lines (5V, 1 - 3A) until it reaches ~ –240V, upon which it discharges the stored voltage into the USB data lines.
The process of rapid discharging will continue while the device is plugged in, or the device can no longer discharge - that is, the circuit in the host machine is broken.
The USB Kill Tester Shield is a dual purpose device:
- It allows you to test your USB Kill 2.0 without damaging your host device.
It prevents data theft via ‘juice-jacking’

When I want to zap something I uses more serious equipment and that would probably also zap the test shield.
But any equipment rated for mains usage must survive this test.
PS: That tester is a bit on the dangerous side.

Such a device with a higher discharge current than 3A would be even more interesting.

What about this two?
I own something like that 6-in-1 thingamajig. Basically it’s 3 loads you can combine : 0,5A, 1A and 2A.
At least that’s what they’re supposed to be, they’re ceramic loads, so it may ‘vary’ a little.
It’s also equipped with a bunch of LED’s on the back, which consume about 0,8A and you can connect 4 more loads/devices to it.
Don’t believe mine has the mini/micro)usb connectors, but otherwise it’s identical…
Back in the day, before I had fancy electronic testers and loads, this is what I used to test stuff. It’s quite old…

I might take a look at them.
The problem with usb isolators is that they only support fairly slow speeds.

YZXStudio...
I just received the YZXstudio 7th Gen 4-cell powerbank. The construction of this thing is top notch, and the available settings is astonishing! The most remarkable configurations are:
Set output voltage for both 5V and QC 9V (+0.5V)
-Set discharge cutoff voltage, charge termination voltage and current.
-Set battery charge current up to 4.5A (1A+ each)
I’m still trying to figure out some of the calibration features (the UI is in Chinese only), but so far I have correctly calibrated battery ca…

That is a Indiegogo project, I may look at it when I can get it from a shop.
Shipping is $22, that is a bit much for a $40 device.

YZXStudio 8 Power Bank Review (4x18650) - #29 by will34
Shipping on the PLX Legion is a bit more than ususal, but this device has been the first powerbank with OLED. And also multiprocessor (temperature, voltage, current, etc.).
It’s currently in the selling out phase, the black one and the smaller 5.500mAh capacity already sold out.
It’s also availiable on eBay:
