Easypix 7-led flashlight

Went into the local Shopper's Drugmart today and in the photo/batteries section they had this LED flashlight I've never seen for $21.

Says it runs on 2 D cells. No specs on the packaging at all, which is the only reason I never bought it right then.

The name on it says Easypix 7-led flashlight. Looks like some form of optics to me, as it screws up my view of the emitters enough that I can't make them out.

I'm as cheap as they come, so let me ask if anyone has seen such a thing before and is it a waste of money?

(2012/05/31) EDIT:

So I bought it, turns out it was $10.50 which is more reasonable for this light.

Compared to a Ultrafire WF-502B

Dismantled.

The LEDs in their plastic base. You can imagine how well that serves as a heatsink.

Machining is pretty rough and it's missing an O-ring.

You can see the back side of the optics. It's apparently 7 white plastic cones for reflectors and aspheric style lens in front of them.

The driver board.

Comparison of this to a Ultrafire WF-502B on mouseover.

No ampage measurements as I moved in the time between initial post and this update, and can't find my meter, but I doubt it's impressive.

tough to say w/o seeing the insides

I doubt it is very impressive (or uses cree leds) stock, but depending on how it was made/assembled it might be great to mod

I say go for it, and post some pictures if you're comfortable taking it apart.

you could probably return it if you didn't like it...
