glowing o-rings

Does anyone knows from which material are those green glowing o-rings which can be found in several flashlights. Today i received stainless ultrafire C3 from dealextreme and noticed that beneath the glass is green glowing , probably silicone o-ring. Maybe it sounds stupid but i just don't like any radioactive crap, e.g. tritium or similar stuff which is relatively popular lately as edc.

If what you mean is, is it tritium no. Not radioactive or anything.

it's something similar to this ...

What is your question?

i thought it's obvious :).. is this shit radioactive or what.. you said ..it's not .. why it glows then ?

or this

Glowing doesn't requires stuff to be radioactive.

tl;dr it "stores" light during daytime, and emits it at night (if you leave it in dark place for too long, it'll "run out" until you expose it to bright light again).

Why do you think that it has to be radioactive to glow ???

This and google should answer your questions.

I'm always little bit suspicious when it comes for budget stuff from china.

Yep, they use this famous enriched U235 rubber to smuggle weaponized Uranium into the west. So if you buy 8435345358234 Ultrafire C8 SS, you are able to assemble your own private atomic bomb for household purposes.

Yep, I tested mine with a Geiger counter. :P

Its clear silicone thats been mixed with glow powder. Glow powder, pigments and paints do not emit radioactive particles... they (generally) haven't since the late-1950s.

you'll be fine

sounds good for forcing the mole to go away from backyard
