DQG AAA titanium @ FancyFlashlights

Only 57$... available early June.

The shorter knurling of the head makes it uglier than the stainless steel version, to my taste.

And only R4 version?

Thanks for the info. I have read that there is only the R4 Version... but 57 bucks - a quite proud price ;)

Beautiful!

A titanium twisty? No thanks!!!

I kind of feel the same way after reading all the CPF entries, that complained about rough titanium threads on various lights... and even excessive lubing didn't seem to help.

must be the most expensive Chi*a-made 1xAAA flashlight then, let's recall that the most desirable luxury Chi*a-made production 1xAAA flashlight was the Klarus MiX6 Ti up to this point, 29.80€ incl discounts. if there is ever a group buy on this, price would be ~50$ i guess, still a very proud price. If my Klarus dies, i could call the German Klarus distributor and get FREE spare parts (broken lens, rear spring problem, replacement pill) from him but how do i service a broken or died DQG after 2-3 years of use?

looking forward to a few reviews. let's keep in mind that (on ebay) with 57$ you could buy a brand new Spirit blinky blinky multitool with FREE lifetime warranty.. so that's what i did not a long time ago ;)

I had a titanium ITP A3 EOS about two years ago and, while a nice light, the galling of the titanium threads was just horrendous. It's akin to the feeling you'd get from hearing dozens of long finger nails being mercilessly dragged across a chalkboard.

With all of that said, I do realize that vanity plays a role with the demand for these titanium products, and I do commend CNQ for the undertaking.

If they made a titanium clicky then I'd be interested. Looks like EagleTac will be getting theirs to the market soon, so that will be interesting.

A Ti clicky by EagleTac you sure?? i’d love to see that! Only few if any Ti clickies in the sub-70$ section exist! I totally agree with the iTP A3 Titanium. Horrible threads, cheap titanium ALLOY, gets harder to twist over time, and with a loupe one can see the threads losing their original triang-cut shape due to the abrasion. Lots of grey gunk building up in the threads (similar to bare Aluminum threads) no matter which recommended lube is applied. It’s cheap titanium ALLOY, and You Cant Fix Stupid. it’s the way it is.

With the DQG III Ti the reviewers will have the last word on this topic. (btw, i paid 31$ for my iTP A3 Titanium brand new on ebay .. i found that very expensive for what you get: a simple 1xAAA light built of cheap Titanium alloy with horribly gritty threads. one-hand operation IMPOSSIBLE. it was an unnecessary buy and i do regret it a bit. the best use i made of it was for reference and comparison purposes in my 1xAAA light reviews for BFL).

i am looking more forward to the Eagtac Ti clicky (~70US$) than to the DQG Ti twisty (~50US$ group buy).

I shan't be buying one, but for the sake of those who do, I hope QC is more consistent with this Ti version than it was with the recent batch of SS units. Otherwise, for $50 there could be some very disappopinted customers.

There will be a R5 CW Ti Version as well http://www.fancyflashlights.com/goods.php?id=380

Sorry for the late reply (and for the semi-hijacking of this thread!). Check out this link for the EagleTac D25 Ti clicky:

Thanks!! Am looking forward to the EUR pricing by the main importer (distributor) for Germany, schiermeier.biz; he's got fair prices (e.g. 51.99$+7.50$shipping vs 44.90€+4.90€shipping; or 64.90$ vs 52.90€).

Threads on the V10R Ti are nice, but you can't overcome the fact that Ti has a tendency to cold weld and isn't really self smoothing over time. The nicest Ti threads on a flashlight that I've seen are on the D10 Ti, a custom workup which is smoother than many of the recent Anodised Al torches from sunwayman. Big wide thread pitch, on tight machining tolerances and high level finish, coupled with a good alloy can give great results, but it aint your everyday thing either.

$37 on clearance. That 9 gram weight is tempting.

I buy that I think was the last TI AAA DGQ in stock from Ric, I have like two weeks ago, I love it, is just perfect… Small, light, bright, easy to use, perfect beam, etc…

Congrats! This is my favorite AAA light. It is my firm belief that everyone should have a DQG AAA on their keychain.

+1

I agree with both… This little light is just amazing…
