what should chinese manufacturers copy next?

I wouldn't mind one like these for cheap:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ThruNite-Catapult-V2-Cree-XM-L-LED-Flashlight-SMO-/330512011937?pt=US_Flashlights&hash=item4cf40d12a1

Good question! I personally am fascinated by good clones. As long as they are clearly marked as a clone and not counterfeited labels, I'm all for it.

I would like a Maratac AA clone and a Quark Mini AA clone, but both with a clicky instead of a twisty.

I think that ThruNite Catapult design is already copied:

Perhaps aesthetically close if not better. doubtfully an XM-L properly driven can make it in a recoil thrower by heatsinking alone...

Personally, I'm more of a form-follows-function kind of guy. Well, within reason. I'd love to see some of the features my semi-expensive lights have in a budget light, ie. something like Solarforce's "infinite output system" (fancy name for variable PWM) or, heck, maybe even some interesting gimmicks, like the TK45 design with three heads.

Yes, the TK 45 would be nice. It looks somehow dangerous like a weapon.

It looks like the offspring of an Ultrafire that had too much to drink and made sweet sweet love to a mini-gun!

Yup...and I still want one :)

The D-10 ..

Nitecore is too stupid to remake it and is losing a million dollars by refusing to do so ..All of their loyal customers are out looking for something to by . remake it or repop it as a "D Tein" and make more money than sense . Copy the copy of the copy

Sunwayman was talking about their new lights and they just got a patent on their U.I......I started laughing profusely ..a chines company with a patent ... that's just silly .what's the point .

I'd settle for a single AA light with XP-G R5 and a good Low. I don't know why there aren't a dozen different ones like that available. The XP-G has been out for over a year and yet there are still so many XR-E lights out there. There seem to be too many issues with the Eastward, the K10, and the R5-A3 doesn't have a good Low. I also don't understand why AKOray can't do a 3-mode programmable with XP-G R5. They could sell thousands of them. And if they could up the driving current to 1.4A and fix the mushy tail clicky, it could compete with any light out there.

+1

I'm rethinking my answer now....If I could choose one thing for them to copy, it would be Amazon(dotcom)'s shipping speed. There is no reason in this day and age that a parcel should take over a month to arrive anywhere. I'm even ok with paying extra for shipping....but for heaven's sake, cut that delivery time down to a week or less. Something like this:

Please choose shipping method:

___ Second day airmail: $$$$

___ 3-4 Day Priority mail: $$$

___ 5-7 Day Express: $$

___ 10-14 Day w/ Confirmation: $

___ Tethered to the migratory bird of our choice: Free!

I got used to the usuall 5-6 days IF customs are not interested and after HKP confirmation that it has left for its destination. The bad thing is that after placing an order the retailer takes around 3-6 days to dispatch the goods (unless it is manafont which almost always dispatch the goods within 1 day). HKP then needs around 3 days to arrange he departure. At one time i got a DX order in my hands in 7 days after placing an order. Never happened again.

I ordered a couple of A123 18650’s from a HK retailer on eBay, the order was placed on a Friday and the parcel arrived the following tuesday!
I’ve not been that impressed by a delivery since the early days of Amazon, when you could order a book at 4pm and it would come through you door the next morning.

The speed of Amazon delivers goods around the country is very fast

Hello heyley welcome to the insane asylum BLF

___ 5-7 Day Express: $$

___ 10-14 Day w/ Confirmation: $

___ Tethered to the migratory bird of our choice: Free!

___ Sloth ,tortiose, snail, ferret, handing it from one person to the next .

Brted ..+2.. gee that seems hard no flash 3 modes .. Personally i could care a less about the newest greatest emitter I just want everything else to stop being a " bag o S*** "..

I really would like a Fenix TK 35 clone. I love the design of that light, but it's just too much money.

Go on make me a really good $60 copy!

yes, but they don't deliver internationally, or atleast amazon US don't, I have ordered from amazon.de before though.

Sipik SK68 with a L-M-H driver that can still handle 14500s. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Amazon.com will ship some stuff overseas but electronics, DVDs/CDs, eBooks and even some physical, dead-tree books are almost always verboten. Unfortunately, that doesn't leave much. I understand licensing deals may prevent Amazon from selling books, DVDs and CDs in other markets but I'm not sure what the deal is with electronics (aside from the obvious 110v vs. 230v issue). One item Amazon will happily ship to Europe, for instance, is the Kindle. We went over the numbers with the K2 and the K3 and with the latter, it turned out to be cheaper for our friends to order the Kindle directly from Amazon (they take care of all the customs stuff) than it would have been for us to order and re-mail one for them. The K2 had (at least) two different versions - international and domestic - but the K3 works just fine, no matter where you happen to live.
