Hello everyone,
The biggest problem when upgrading a flashlight seems to be to find a proper heat sink for the project.
Finding a LED is no problem and find a host for it is no problem either.
Then it comes to the cooling of the LED and here I have a problem.
The heat sinks on Ebay is mostly in aluminum, big size and not round.
If i want a small copper heat sink where do I buy it?
Best regards
Mr Andersson
Since all lights are different, what light or type of light will the used in?
The one I am working on now is 35mm.
I am using a "1W" heat sink from Ebay for my SST-90 now.
It works surprisingly well
Copper? You may not find one. Not many are produced and if they are, they tend to be expensive or they tend to be alloy, not pure copper and copper alloy is not much better at heat transfer than good aluminum..
Forget about the copper heat sink then.
Where do I find good heat sinks that i can use in 18,26,35mm hosts?I have no problem to grind it down a mm or two so it fits.

I have been looking for a 35mm host for quite a while - can you point me to this one?

Most D size or 3xAA battery flashlights is 34-35mm.

Old Servers using the Intel Xeon Processor almost always had a large 5-8mm thick copper base for the heat sink. If you know of anybody getting rid of old PCs that is.
