Looking to purchase a Sky Ray King?

I am looking to purchase a Sky Ray King (love the gold color) to go along with my TM11 and wanted some opinions if this is well spent money? This will be my first venture into a budget light if I purchase it and I need a little push to help make up my mind! Anyone game for helping me spend some money?

It is an awesome light and out performs the TM11 in everything except mode selection. It's so good I'm considering getting another in NW this time. Do it!!! 8)

This light was too expensive for me but I bought it anyway, and has nothing but praise for it. Lightmalls has it for $65, received in ONE week, with original skyray marking on the box and body.

The cool white however, limit the light penetration outdoors at night, thus the throw is considerably lessened. I highly recommend paying a bit extra for the NW. I would have if I had tested the CW upfront.

Yep! Get the neutral.

Why the neutral? I'm more of a cool white guy myself...

Cool is good for maximum output, but it grays out colors and everything looks flat.

With neutral the color rendering outside will be much, much better. And my neutral King is just as bright as my cool.

Well, if you like CW then go ahead with that one, no problem. Don't let other people tell you what you like :) We just give you info for you to consider. CW King is a very very good flooder.

That being said, if you have concerns over the throw at all, you might consider neutral a try.

I have a dedomed UF 3mode P60, that dedome somehow changed the tint a lot. It looks to be around 4500K. It beats the pulp out of the CW King at 125m. Of course at the length, the king illuminates everything around, but still, there's that sinking feeling how this $16 drop do better than a $65 light, and there's that whisper "should've gotten the neutral"

Well, one thing to be said though, this is the tropics, it is normally wet and has some light fog. CW will bounce off these whereas NW goes through. That's why NW seem to throw better.

Ok you guys talked me into a NW, I have enough CW lights anyway. Time to try something new so I will report back after I receive it, planning on ordering tomorrow. Please keep the feedback coming and thanks for the help! Going to be a little upset though if I end up liking this better than my TM11.

You may not like it better but you will wonder why you payed so much for the TM11.

+1 for skyray. I love that it accepts 4 18650's with no battery holder in such a small forum.
