Food grade pill capsule?

I'm looking for a safe pill capsule to carry meds on my keychain. (I only need some pain killers for my occasional headache)

Currently I have a super-cheap capsule from BIC ( http://www1.buyincoins.com/details/aluminum-pill-box-case-bottle-holder-container-keychain-product-1923.html ) which I guess is not very safe for me. (actually I bought it just because it looked pretty without knowing what I would do with it, and only for the past few months started carrying the painkillers in it)

Today, for the first time, I noticed it left some color on the pills, and as I wouldn't really like to eat Chinese colors, I thought of getting something that is food safe, and I guess I'll have to trust western countries' dealers for that, rather than Chinese.

So what should I get? Stainless steel? Titanium? I found a Delrin one on survivaldepot.co.uk ... But all of these are quite expensive, especially including shipping. I guess I could get one in a local pharmacy, but I don't really trust what they sell here as "food grade", and I trust the durability of what's sold here even less.

Any suggestions? Under 15$ (including shipping) if possible...

The dimensions of the capsule I linked to above are perfect for me. I also would like it to be lightweight, the BIC one weighs ~10g, so I would like something similar. My keychain grows large and heavy lately...

The delrin ones from countycomm are real nice. Not sure about the shipping though.

You could probably remove the dye from your aluminium pill case by soaking it in caustic soda (also called sodium hydroxide / lye / drain cleaner). Or just fill it with caustic soda, so it stays colorful on the outside...

I'd boil it afterwards, of course

I've never done this myself, so I don't know how well it works!

Yes, the same as from survivaldepot. Also available at http://www.endtimesreport.com/survival_shop.html for 10$ with a kind of reasonable shipping cost of 7$. Together with other items it might be worth it.

I could try that, but I fear the aluminum itself would stick to the pills because of abrasion, and god knows what aluminium alloy they used and how stable it is.

Hag, have you tried just washing the container? Wash with soap and hot water, then soak it lighter fluid overnight. Then wash again and dry it out with several washings of acetone, ethanol, or azeotropic IPA (91% stuff from drug store.) This will get all surface contaminates out, like dyes, oils, grime and whatnot. I have several cheapo pill carries and this has always worked well.

I did, but the problem is that the pills scratch the capsule's walls, very lightly but enough so that during a week or more that I (thankfully) don't need to take the pills they scratch off enough material no matter how much I clean it. I suspect this would be the same with any other material (including bare aluminium), so I either need a tougher material such as stainless steel or titanium, or some food grade plastic that I don't care to swallow. I think.

Have you considered putting your meds in a plastic liner or baggie, then inserting that into the container, such that you have double containment? If it's small sublingual headache pills it should not be a problem to still get it all in the enclosure.
