Quick question about drop-in compatibility!

Hi, I have just one quick question: would THIS drop-in module actually drop in or fit into THIS body?

I think it will but I need confirmation of pros here, before ordering today :-)

(size of drop-in is supposed to be: 1.02 in x 1.02 in x 1.46 in (2.6 cm x 2.6 cm x 3.7 cm))

So

into ->

thanks in advance

Yes they will fit, that is a P60 drop-in and the other is a P60 host.

There would be no point buying the second one though if you just wanted to put the drop-in into it, you could just get the host and the drop-in. Also there are modules out there for a similar price which most consider better, e.g. Ultrafire 3 mode at manafont. Solarforce hosts are also considered much better quality hosts for a similar price.

I'd recommend taking a look at solarforce-sales.com and some of the combinations they offer.

Also, when putting a high output drop-in into a host don't forget to wrap it tightly in tin foil or copper tape to fit it snugly into the host and allow for good heat transfer from the drop-in to the body of the light.

It will fit but I'll second RedForest suggest for a SolarForce host. I have several and they are [IMO] the best quality budget host [not the hotel chain] on the market.

In general all P60 /D26 drop-ins will fit all P60 hosts. That said you'll find that some drop-in / host combos are a snug fit and some are a bit looser. The suggestion of using copper or alum tape to get a snug fit is vital, especially if you use a high output drop-in. If the heat can't leave the drop-in its going to have a short life.

Yes, but no point in buying the light with the P7 drop-in already installed. Also, the 501b doesn't have the best heat-sinking for the high-powered emitters. I really like the folllowing combination from Manafont:

XM-L 3-mode, extremely bright on high, no strobe or SOS modes - $15.98 - http://www.manafont.com/product_info.php/ultrafire-cree-t6-3mode-memory-led-dropin-module-42v-max-p-5178

...and this host - Ultrafire 504b in Silver (if that's your preference) $8.12 - http://www.manafont.com/product_info.php/ultrafire-wf50x-flashlight-tube-metal-bezel-silver-no-led-emitter-p-6065

...also available in black - http://www.manafont.com/product_info.php/ultrafire-wf50x-flashlight-tube-metal-bezel-black-no-led-emitter-p-6064

The 504b hosts are much nicer with better heatsinking, no crenelations, an anti-roll feature, and tailstandability.

This is also a very nice host that I highly recommend; good heatsinking, cool styling, and tailstandability - $7.99 - http://www.manafont.com/product_info.php/sky-ray-sr5-flashlight-tube-no-led-emitter-p-5548

<added>

Manafont also has the 18650s you need if you don't have them:

Protected TrustFire 18650s - $11.70/pair - http://www.manafont.com/product_info.php/protected-trustfire-18650-37v-3000mah-rechargeable-batteries-2pcsset-p-7941

...and a good charger - Trustfire TR-001 - $9.42 (good charger but you can find it cheaper if you shop around) - http://www.manafont.com/product_info.php/trustfire-multifuctional-charger-fir-10430-10440-16340-17670-18650-cr123a-us-plug-p-1205

Yes, I'm shilling for Manafont, but only as a satisfied customer and only for products I have used and personally recommend.

first, thanks to all for info ,

It would be great if they would write somewhere in description tha it is P60 flashlight or P60 host/drop-in!!!

I totally agree that there is no point buyng just drop-in BUT, I sold that flashlight (WF-501B) to my friend and mentioned that he can convert that flashlight from flood to thrower just by switching the drop-in module! so he now wants that drop-in...

There is no point also because there is THIS, mentioned drop-in and 501B host already assembled in flashlight for good price, but hey he wants the drop-in...

Thanks again, I appreciate the help

P.S. unfortunately I can't buy from manafont, they don't shipp for my country and acept only PayPal, already asked them whether they would be willing to send me something, they said NO, so that's it, my only option is DX or (even worse) DD ...

Hmmm? The XM-L drop-in won't make it a thrower; it's a very floody light in the P60-platform. To make a thrower, you might try a hard-driven XR-E R2 with a smooth reflector or a blacked-out reflector/aspheric combo if you can get a decent lens...

For the same price as the drop-in, he could get a Jacob A60 which ILIKEFLASHLIGHTS here really seems to like:

Or the Small Sun ZY-C10-S for a flood-to-throw zoomer that's supposed to be impressive:

It's good to have you here, Gurthang!
