I have the first gen, indeed a great watch. Considered to sell it couple of times but decided to keep it at the last moment every time.

It’s such a classic design! Thumbs Up Did you mod yours with a Dagaz dial?
I rewatched the director’s cut last week. Smile

I'm wearing with great satisfaction my Orient Mako II (FAA02001B) 200m automatic diver for some time now.

It has the new F6922 automatic in-house movement with manual winding and hacking ...

It fits my wrist perfectly and is remarkably accurate, like +1 second/week, sometimes even better!

https://www.dropbox.com/s/ypgrtwhsvh9hc9b/IMG_20190618_200521.jpg?dl=0

I think I'm very lucky with the accuracy I'm getting and payed a good price for it to (for Europe) Big Smile

You sure are. Both my Makos run fast by about 10 seconds per day, alas, it depends on how you rest them, to some extent.

I still like them quite a bit.

As it's my first Orient, I was very surprised by this to and I wouldn't accept a +10 seconds/day at all to be honest.

I wear my piece every day all day long and only putting it off just before going to sleep.

I keep it flat (face up) on my nightstand and every morning only giving it a 5x manual winding, that’s it Big Smile

Perhaps this contributes to the very good accuracy I'm getting, who knows...

If I remember correctly, when new, my Makos were significantly more accurate… within 2 seconds per day. Over time, they got worse.

There is a way to adjust accuracy, but it requires some very precise and steady hands.

EDIT: I went back to check my records. My original Mako actually runs fast by about 30 seconds/day if I leave it face up, but that is the old 46943 movement. My newer Mako USA II with F6922 movement seems to be more accurate so far.

Do I get it right, you guys buy mechanical watches to complain about observe how many seconds the watches run fast or slow instead of buying a quarz watch?

Hmm, on the other hand I mod every knife I get and make a lot of handicraft thing so I guess I understand the fiddling. A bit Wink

I just ordered this watch...

timex_t49851

https://www.amazon.com/Timex-T49851-Expedition-Vibration-Alarm/dp/B004GHLEMQ

I need a watch with a vibrating alarm, and I really like Timex digital watches.

This one should be good, although the cheap plastic band will need to be replaced with a nice steel mesh band.

Love the time pieces weklund, you have an awesome collection.

No shock, but seem to have accumulated about 6 G“s now.

Biding my time for a frogman next…….or mud carbon.

I installed a stainless steel mesh watch band, and I've been wearing this watch for a while now.

This is the largest watch I have owned, and the most expensive, and it's easily my favorite.

I almost always get Timex digital watches, and this one is a winner.

(Timex doesn't make many vibrating digital watches, so there weren't that many to choose from.)

This one looks and functions great.

I thought the plastic "compass" would bother me because it's so useless, but I just ignore it.

I like how the buttons are large and stick out pretty far.

It makes it easy to push them.

I'm a happy raccoon.

Thanks weklund, yes I am sure I have seen you sport a few G’s in the past. I am also sure you have played a part in me wanting to get some as well(going back a good bit of time). An enabler for sure with an amazing collection. Iirc you have a mudmaster? The next one up from mine. Could be wrong…..

Nice gulfman Cool , my little one is made up as he has just got one. Not the same, smaller version , the 9100. I loved the look, titanium case back, but the band is too small for my wrist. It appears only the double bands fit best. Basically when on wrist, it was 1 or 2 holes off the end……..don’t like the way it sat just tucked in the retainer. I could of course got a larger strap, but the smile on his face alone was more than worth it.

I was about to post a pic from phone but looked huge . Will have to sort later .

Cheers! Love to see more of them weklund

Edit- the Gulfman

Well i had to dig my old rotary out, hard to see all the patina(read beating) from 15yrs of heavy use. Sea, pools, drops and dings, working on cars…….its been there. I had removed the battery ages back, just to protect it from any potential leaks. It got a new one a month back, so be rude not to wear it. It has sentimental value to me.

The hand(only operates when chrono in operation) was sat 1 second before 12. Crown out as if to set time, press on the top right button to align. All perfect again. The actual seconds hand is the little red hand at 6’o clock.
