Jacob A60 Vs Small Sun C10

Ok guys I tried this on manual on these settings. These are very close to what I see. These were 70 yd shots approx and the settings were shutter speed 1" and focal 3.2.

Jacobs A60

Small Sun C10

Interesting, the SmallSun has somewhat close to the same brightness in the hotspot, but that thing has zero spill. It's a spotlight.

Good comparative shots.

Ok I just compared what I see here on the computer to what I again seen outside on the shot above with the Jacob A60. And this is definately a little brighter.

So let me go try the next shutter speed at 1.3 which will be in between the 1.6 I originally tried at 200yds and it didn't do the lights justice.

Ok let's try these. Same distance of 70yds and shutter 1.3 and focal 3.2.

Jacob A60

Small Sun C10

These should be closer to the real thing.

Still a little bright.

I'll go try 1.6 shutter. Funny thing is at longer distances 1.6 shutter didn't work and underscored lights.

Very impressive. I can't get over how little spill there is with the Jacobs. To me it looks just a hair brighter too.

Actually the Jacobs has pretty good spill, It's an awesome $14.60 light.

Let's try these.

Shutter 1.6 and focal 3.2

Jacob A60

Small Sun C10

Jacob A60 looks higher / brighter spot intensity... in addition to some useable spill to the sides.

Ok those are getting close.

Let me try one more setting.

Shutter 2 and focal 3.2

Jacob A60

Small Sun C10

I would say the last ones are very close to as real as you can see live. And it might even be the ones right up above those which would be next to last I posted.

Shutter speed of "2" is 1/2 second, just about perfect.

Nice job.

Guys I'm here to tell you for $15 shipped, no light will probably touch the Jacob A60. I'll bet it's very close to 50K lux at 1 meter. It's a very good thrower. But I still don't think it will out throw my brighter XM-L throwers at like 200yds or farther.

Troop actually that was 2 on my camera and not 2".

That seems to be very close.

And I'm loving that 2 sec timer. No more fuzzy images.

Thanks again Troop! You have been a blessing.

Now I'm going to go compare the M3X to the FandyFire STL-V6 at teh same distance.

Good work, ILIKE.... Just a suggestion - next time maybe you could zoom in a little; just to better compare the hotspots. Now you've got me interested in the Jacob A60 !

Btw, are there any flashlights that you DON'T own???

That's much better!! I know there's alot of you out there that have the Small Sun ZY-C10-S and you know how good it throws and bright it is(the spot) The Jacob A60 gives you both. I was amazed for $14.60!!! Thank you Brad For the Fine job in pictures!!!!

I wanted to keep the focal as close to 2.8 as possible. So I zoomed in a little to where it went to 3.5 focal and zoomed back a hair until it went to 3.2.

Yes there are a lot of lights I don't own.

I'm trying to talk my mom in to buying me the ThruNite TN31 for Christmas. That will be one gift I can't wait to open. But that may change by then depending on what comes out in the meantime.
