Beamshots Sipik SK36 Recoil.......and others.

First try at this, but hopefully these will give an idea of the relative performance of a few lights.

The lights: L to R Sipik SK-68 (flood to throw), SK-36, Aurora WF-600 (2X1640's) and Palight BG-002 HID (28w)

First up the SK-36 recoil. The target shed is at ~42m.

SK-36 Low

The SK-68 with a 14500

Aurora WF-600 with 2X16340's

Palight BG-002 HID

Good heavens, I hope your shed is fireproof! It looks as though that Palight is going to incinerate it. You're right about there not being much spill on the SK-36. For a pure thrower though it looks pretty good. I think it would embarrass the SK-68 if you back it out to 100yds, not sure about the Aurora though....that one looks pretty decent as well :) Nice collection of throwers and thanks for the beamshots.

Nice! How's that Palight compare to, say, a car headlamp?

As a guess I'd say its output would be close to a good 100w halogen headlight.......just more concentrated. I've compared it directly to a 12v 50w halogen spotlight and the halogen looked like a candle in comparison.

The palight boasts a 'zoomable' beam, but in reality the zoom simply creates an enormous doughnut on the 'in' setting, and a microscopic hot-spot on the 'out' setting.
