So it begins...bought a Sipik SK68 last night; There goes minimalism

So much for my -

“I’m going to be patient and mull over a lot of information before purchasing any lights, because I want two lights at most, which I feel if thoughtfully selected, can accomplish 100% of what almost anyone needs a flashlight for.”

Bought a Sipik SK68 one mode (pretty sure it’s not a clone) from one of the major retailers last night.

And so it begins…

Its addictive. :)

Tho there is no real heal. Currently there are two lights I'd like to own, UF-T50 and Fenix TK70. T50 might happen, TK70 is too expensive, so I'm fine.. :D

Next, get XML lights. :P

i resisted peer pressure and never got a Sipik or clone.

i win! ;)

Yes, kreisler never buys those cheap lights. But he's got more AAA keychainlights than keys.

Well, it was either the Sipik or a $50+ Fenix, $45+ Quark, or $30 Xeno E03, and since I caved to reality and conceded my infection, I figured that I might as well start off with something inexpensive.

sh*t.

that's true!! :D

@OP, what's your favorite ketchup?

Mine is McDonald's original ketchup (can be bought at local discounter's)!!

Resistance is futile :stuck_out_tongue:

That didn’t take long…

I’m on a sort of temporary flashlight purchasing hiatus at the moment. All I have left on my list is a multi-XML flood-best and a single 18650 XM-L pocket light. I’ll probably be ordering the Trustfire TR-J16 using my Manafont points with the MarsFire A T6 to follow soon. I have $50 to spend on Manafont points; once the last few clear, I’ll be ordering…

I am genuinely not a follower of the herd, so it pains me (in a strange way) to admit it, but if it’s not Heinz, it’s just not ketchup.

McDonald’s french fries are still the best - crispy on the outside, fluffy in the center, and nicely coated with salt.

Oh, and like French’s yellow mustard, too.

Everyone should have a Sipik SK68.

Next (if you haven’t already) you will need a new charger for your new 14500’s…

You can always play with it a bit, then gift it to someone. That way you satisfy your short term curiosity and still stick to your plan of getting two “thoughtfully selected” lights…

@Ketchup: Now that you have the SK68 on its way, here’s your next mission:

Re: ketchup/catsup/pickled tomato paste:
I’m not a fan and only eat it on hot dogs. On any other food item, it overpowers the other flavors. I also don’t like mustard so it’s always mayo on burgers… Ketchup on a burger/fries ruins the flavor for me…

I like ketchup on my fries, ketchup & mustard AND mayo on my burgers, but there’s no way in hades I will ever put ketchup on hot dogs or any sausage, whether bratwurst or kielbasa.

You guys telling me (reality) that I need to invest in 14500s and suggesting new projects are freaking me out.

Let me at least try the SK68 with regular alkaline batteries, bitch about how it’s “not bright as I had hoped it would be,” and solicit advice here first.

France has some fine mustard specialities but i prefer ours, those made by Kühne or Dusseldorf, medium hot. I also like alkalines but they cant provide the high current (1.0-2.0A) which Cree lights draw from the single cell. If you like the brightness, get 1 Eneloop and enjoy constant brightness. 14500 are optional, they will only make you addicted to lights. Not good.

Not a problem. Once you get the SK68 in, play with it a bit and come back and we’ll help you out…

HAHAHAHA! Make room for the curio cabinet!

Trying2Ketchup, you are definitely out of control. Get a grip before it is too late.

The SK68 is one of my very best lights. In no world would I not have one! It’ll be your next fixation, Ketchup. And a single alkaline drives it just fine. 14500 gave me no significant increase. Part of the beauty of the Q5s is that they run great on such a wide range of voltage.

LOL! Too late for that first complaint.

Not a bad light at all . . according to everyone else who seems to have one. Which LED in it?
