I can tell you're jealous

It finally happened, a huge storm came through last night and knockef down half the trees in my neighborhood, as well as the power lines. I’ve been struggling all day, trying to decide which lights to use…dress rehearsal is over! Might be a day or two until power is restored. The only thing better is if this happened in October or so

lol nice! during a power outage you realize how powerful these current gen lights are…a 30-100 lumen low is used more than anything and provides ample light…the wife is always telling me to turn them off…

Lucky! I haven’t had a power outage in over a year.

Lucky for you but with temps set to reach mid to high 90's here, I'm definitely NOT looking forward to any power outages... ;)

I remember the last time the power went out in my area. It happened the night before an exam. I had to study by candlelight since I did not have any flashlights at that time. It was not a fun experience.

After bunches of power failures around here (due to storms and/or corrupt power utilities mysteriously taking several generating stations offline at the worst possible time) I had a 20kw natural gas powered backup generator/automatic transfer switch installed. Let the bad times roll! But something tells me, now that I have it, the power will never go out again.

We've had a couple power outages over the last year or so but usually during the day. I might have to create my own nighttime power outage.

Next time, put an MC-E or XM-L on low and take the head off. Plenty of light for a good while! I tried it a few weeks ago.

make a nice "for sale" list for all your neighbors at 10$ over what you can replace them for ...and go out at night and do lots and lots of serious beamshots .Invite all your neighbors to come compare their lights as well .. lights look much brighter when it's screaming dark

I hear you !!

I did almost the same thing.
Before I had it , power outages galore during hurricane seasons in Florida.
Afterwards, not a thing even worth mentioning for the next three seasons.
Actually kinda made me mad.

While power outages do posses a certain quality.

If they happen in the summertime. I am a very unhappy camper. |(
Even though I grew up & lived most of my life in Florida… I HATE HOT WEATHER !! |(
It gets much over 90 and I’m back in the house.

Lol power down once I try to reply this thread.

I built some lights myself for specially use when power outage.

One light that powered by 6V 4AH SLA battery and two 3watt LEDs. No optics or reflector.

Another one is powered by 18650 and 1W LED. no optics.

Yeah, they bring out the homicidal maniac in me… I’m addicted to electrons. I gotta have my fix. I go batty after about 5 minutes without them. I turn green, swell up and grow bulgy muscles, burst my pants, get very angry, and go on a cross-country destructive rampage.

The last winter storm knocked out the power and they said it could be two weeks before it came back on… actually only took a day (benefit of having a senator and ex-govenor as neighbors and an ex-president a couple of miles down the road?), but that was it for me.

I don’t want to think what it would be like during the summer. Last year it got to 116 degrees with over 60 days straight over 100. It was bad enough earlier this year when two air conditioners went out at the same time and it took three days to get new ones installed. And the temp was only in the high 80’s.

Well… it’s finally dark by 10:00 pm and daylight by 5:00 am, which is pretty much all sleep time. Right now I’d just be extremely annoyed by a power outage :stuck_out_tongue:

For you Alaskans, Canadians and Scandinavians it’s even more worthless

Just reading that made me uncomfortable.
That’s it , no summer vacations in Texas for me !….

I know it’s a dry heat, but that’s still way too hot for my tastes…
100 degrees there probably isn’t as bad mid 90’s are in Florida.
After it rains the humidity levels makes it feel like it’s a lot hotter than it really is.
The only way to describe it is just a sick, miserable ,disgusting ,feeling.

temperature change also affected us. I feel some difference in temperature whole year last 10-15 years.

in here Sri Lanka, during hot weather it goes around 36C (95F) & Cool weather below 22C (71F)

Around 10-15 years ago it never go more than 34C & never below 24C.

There are no noticeable seasons here. but I know countries that have Winter too cooler than before & summer too hotter.

Reason is Some people destroy nature. here & there. then result is for us. not only for them.

LMAO, dude
Lucky you, no blackouts here where I live :frowning: (one a year, for 1 hour, during day time :frowning: )

oh those bad people and their two stroke motors

Nope, we had 116% humidity to match the 116 degree temperatures…

But, less than 7 miles away it was 40 degrees below 0 with no humidity…. 7 miles straight up.

It was in the 90’s yesterday and humid, power is still out. Had to sleep on the couch in the basement…it was 70 down there. More storms hitting in a few hours!

Btw…I mainly used the UF2100 on low, ceiling bounce…it was perfect.

I’m definitely familiar with temperature change. We get plenty of it here. I read a while back that an area here in Montana once experienced over an over 100 degree change in a 24 hour period. United States temperature extremes - Wikipedia
How about 49 degrees in 2 minutes according to that link? :open_mouth:

Personally, I frequently witness the temperature dropping from the mid 90’s to 60’s when a storm passes through during summer. I love it! I’m fine with hot during the day as long as it cools down at night. I grew up in the temperate Pacific Northwest so I’m not used to either hot or cold (although I’ve sort of gotten used to the cold being in Montana a while now).
