Should we have a sticky at the top (review of the current best (high lumen) ) brightest for each category of lights ?

No. Because it’s not straightforward (or even possible) to choose “the best”.

Brightest is not always the best. And best for one situation / usage is usually different than best for another…

Yeah, for me modes are better than it being brightest possible light.

My preference would be for a small clickable link of reviews for the 3 or even 10 most popular lights by battery type based on polling with no votes by those with less than 50 posts.

Might be tough to implement, but seems like it would be useful and less likely to be gamed.

yeah something like that so we have something up to date. what is good or what is bad :stuck_out_tongue:

i think most people would like to… know top current 5 throwers or top 5 flooders weather its AA AAA or 18650 etc . budget wise etc.

I’d just tell people to go the review section, or start a topic having people recommend them a light. People shouldn’t choose just one light for a purpose. Not everyone is communist :). They should look through dozens of reviews of different lights. Narrow it down to a few, then narrow it down to one. Works for me everytime, and I’m always happy with my purchases when I do that.

I think about going through that thread and compile the hits. That would be informative. Got to find that round tuit.

That works well except the narrowing it down to one part. :stuck_out_tongue:

Amen Brother !!!

I’m enjoying the eBay risk factor at the moment, I hunt the reviews, find a light I like then find how cheap I can get a knock off…. Since most lights at our price range are pretty much Lego IF you can wield an iron and a meter to see what you have.

I guess the thing is to know what you’d pay for a reputed product from a reputed dealer and its only a bargain if you get the light for less than the price of a driver AND emitter swap. Worst case scenario, you have to plow $10 - $15 into the light or a bit of elbow grease. Best case scenario, your pleasantly suprised. None of my eBay purchases have turned up so bad their unusable, hell, both my c8 and zoomy get used every day, including the crappy limp fire cells.

Maybe I’m just not fussed, but I kind of like playing while I’m still learning, and a bargain is easier to justify to the missus.

i like that last line :stuck_out_tongue: justify to the missus hehe
