What are my options for a 1-mode module for a Solarforce L2m running ONE cr123 battery?

I am looking for a good low voltage module for my solarforce L2m running one cr123 and MAYBE (on occassion) running a 18650. I can’t really find any at the regular sites, but I might be searching using the wrong terms or something. Does anyone have any modules to recommend—-and links would be greatly appreciated.

You can check out manafont.com and search for the Ultrafire 3 mode drop in.

Send a PM to E1320. He makes awesome custom drop ins and has great customer service.

This one?

Its says 4.2v max, but what is the minimum voltage?

I guess that might work, but I really want one with only one mode or start on low and not have a memory!

This one is what I would recommend. The Manafont one wont work for long with the CR123 2.8-4.2v.

I can make you one with this driver but I have heard of the drivers exploding with 18650s so it might not be a good idea until I do more testing on it.

One of the modules E1320 recommended to me was a SF low V drop-in . I’m happy with the 3 mode with memory (leaving it on low always returns to low) version, but there is also a 1 mode version (as he pointed to above). And choice of SMO or OP reflectors.

A low voltage version will run the 123 down correctly while still working with 18650s. I wouldn’t run unprotected but if you carefully watch voltages you could.

I’m using a protected Hi-Max with mine right now in a P60 host (running 2*14500s in the mini). The SF lumens seem very conservatively rated since mine is drawing 1.25A as it sits. It’s not in my best host and it has the worst of 3 of my available single 18650s at 3.something volts. Based on the flashlight wiki I’d guess you could get 450+ lumens with a good, fresh 18650 in a good host.

Might be an XML somewhere, but if so I don’t recall where, except for customizing one of these.

I thought I read in one of your posts that the solarforce modules have a history of blowing and that you end up fixing alot of them. Is this one not one of the ones you end up fixing?

The high voltage ones that go up to 8.4 volts are the ones that burn up.

Any chance this would stand up to being being a part time weapon light on an AR?

I would go with the XRE version myself for a weapon mount but yes there is a video of a stock Solarforce on Youtube mounted on a 12 gauge holding up to numerous shotgun blasts.
