I have a a sweet 4c tint on a 16mm star and was looking for a good host to use with it whether it’s a host kit or a cheap xp-g light i can easily mod.
Anybody have any good suggestions? been looking around and haven’t come up with much. I’d kinda like to stay away from making p60 hosts.
What battery type do you want? How about this from CNQG? Or this one? You'll need a driver though.

Those were the two i have been looking at for the same reason as the OP and was going to suggest them. Does anyone know what those hosts are clones of or are they some origional design?
Those two seem pretty nice. At this point i’m open to powering it with a 14500, 16340 or a 18650

Would any of the ultrafire C8 bodies work well with the XP-G, OP or SMO reflectors?
I have a Palight C8 XP-G from Manafont that I like (after I replaced the original driver with a 1.4A Nangj. So I'd say yes. EDIT: There are beamshots of that Palight in comparison to my Mag C build in that beamshot link above.

First one looks like UF A10 to me. I have one - nice little light.
I’ve now been looking at the solarforce L2 and building a p60 drop in with the XP-G i have. Anyone know where i can find a good empty drop -in for an XP-G either SMO or OP reflector.
Illumination Supply sells them. I have some from DX - SMO here, SMO here, or OP here. Kaidomain has them. Not sure which emitters they are appropriate for though.

Thanks for the help. I’ve found a few but only one of them list if it’s for xp-g’s. I’ve got a really nice 4c tint i want to use.

But those listed are all for XPG or XRE (also XML, tho there seem to be better ones), but I'm not sure if the one from KD is a complete set as it only states reflector.
I recommend IS as they are located in the US, so they should reach you faster than those from China.

Well i ended up going with the OP C8 reflector combo i posted in a link a few posts ago from CNQG, and also ordered a spare SMO XP-G reflector.
ALso went with the 1.4 AMP driver from SB.
I was going to go with the IS version but they were on back order. Craig sent me a reply stating “The reflector was designed for the XR-E I believe. It works well with the XM-L, though” so i’m interested to try it as well
